If they actually think of central european summer time CEST and 10:00-11:00 am as it Said on the message. Im not sure it is mp related. Said game servers will be down, But i have tried to log on and were able to do so and were also able to both create games and use Quick join. But hopefully they fix this bug now.

Yeah, had no trouble playing games for the past hour either. Even ended up in a glitched lobby.

Hoping for a ban wave for people exploiting the bug for several weeks.

If they dont do that: Whats the leaderboard for? The E.Dong for the best exploiters?

Nevertheless, if nobody is getting a ban, Bioware lost a huge amount of trust from honest gamers who dont cheat.

Cheating and exploiting will be encouraged in the future.

I dont think you realise how easy it is to do. I get the glitch at least once per session while im hosting. There is no way to distinguish between genuine exploiters and people who have done it accidentally as far as i can tell. Hell, the pugs i was with could have thought i was exploiting when that couldnt be further from the truth.

Honestly if bioware actually tested things thoroughly before throwing out patches then we would not have this. If we had good netcoding then this bug wouldnt exist. Ever heard the phrase: Dont hate the player, hate the game? This is biowares fault. Not the players fault. Poor netcoding and even poorer QA is the reason this bug exists in the first place. We should be asking for improved QA and netcoding, not for resources to be focussed on banning people who gained a few illegitimate promotions.

Lets ban everyone who played in a glitched lobby!
Population left: 142
Devs interest in future: 0%

Whole scale bans will kill the game you love.

If your going to preach, how about forgiveness?
And penance.
Or are you just a facist?

BURN THEM ALL!!
Hmmmm... Someone else had that idea.
He died. Not much loved either.

Oh, and the Leaderboard has always been about an e-dong! Sheesh, e-gush's even.

Maybe you should join the PS3/Xbox360 thread where they have real problems.
Like being disowned.
And why your at it, make some demands of the devs so they have something to smile about amongst all the hate mail and death threats in their PM's

Lighten up people it's just a game!!!

Whooh.
Rant over.

Dont know how to create the bug, but i must have created endless lobbies and joined even more lobbies from friends that dont want to use the bug. We talk 10h a day at minimum the last 2 weeks. And i cant remember a single time ive got the bug that way. But when joining quick games it happens to often.
Now i dont care if they ban, remove exp or simply does nothing. But i would think they can identify it if they want to.

So I take it both the game and PSN are up now? I did try to get in game this morning but looked like something was down.

Hoping for some afternoon action, if you know what I mean!

And by that I mean obviously killing more of the same mobs over and over!

Might it have something to do with Windows 10 rolling out?

Sorry but I dont care. There are lots of people who dont want to exploit a bug and didnt do it.

A game company needs to react harsh on bug exploiters or they loose all credibility.

Who wants to play a multiplayer game where exploiting is tolerated?

I know that probably a lot of people exploited this bug, but if nothing happends the leaderboards will be an "exploiters leaderboard".

If Bioware fears to lose too many players, then just ban the top 100 exploiters. Or at least reset their promotions. That will teach them a lesson.

Just ban the top 100.

That's only 500 players we lose and the rest of us can enjoy the game with out your constant
" I want my e-dong back!!"

Sheesh

I dont think you read the part that its incredibly easy to accidentally do. Im fully admitting to being in glitched lobbies that ive hosted by complete accident. Should i be banned because bioware allowed a bug to exist in their game?

If that is the case then, by your logic, they need to ban people for a lot of things. Such as: Using multiple Marks of Death to kill dragons fast, stacking other abilities that shoudn't stack but do. Double tapping abilities so you shoot multiple before cooldown. It makes no sense, we do the same thiing over and over and over again in this game, I love the game but it is extremely repetitive. At least this, for the past couple weeks, somewhat broke the monotony of the game. I for one ended up in quite a few of these lobbies, I made up alot of xp that I lost from crashes and other bugs like that. Banning wont help it, only kill the game

Banning anyone playing a game they own for a loophole they did not create to appease a significant minority for a worthless number on an anonymous list is completely ridiculous.

1st: how many people play DAIMP total = ????
2nd: how many people on Leaderboards = 500
3rd: how many non loopholers = ?
4th: how many complaints = ?

Nobody has facts.
Yet you want to innitate an environment of hate based on your beliefs and principles.
Many a genocide was built on those very same principles.
Selfrighteously proclaiming your stance as the only stance, and everyone else should obey it, is what Apartheid, Nazism, the Crusades and the Spanish Inquisition were founded on.

My response:

URGH... INQUISITION, JUST URGH.

I don't believe in Jesus, but for Christ sake, have a bit of faith in the devs and a bit of forgiveness in your heart.
This hate people want to spread to protect something that is only significant to them is a selfishness that I will never possibly fathom.

Soap box?! Faaark me.

What time do the devs come in to office? Calling a close of this topic 5 minutes after they got their first coffee.

I am at work just now.

My OCD demands that I play as soon as I get home at 5.30 (and before the wife gets home timeframe)

So.... is the maintenance over and is the game down/up at the moment?

thanks in advance

In fairness, the bug itself is not the players fault. Hence why I do not support any bans.

Bioware considers abusing the lobbies as an exploit and warned that bans were a possibility. Because of this some players are choosing not to partake in bugged lobbies, while others are choosing to ignore said warning and are taking full advantage.

Promoting every 20 mins in a glitched lobby compared to every 90 minutes in a non-glitched lobby or pre-bugs existence is not equitable.

When you see someone being rewarded 4.5X as much for their time, hostility is going to be the go to reaction.

Bans can be a good solution, but the exploiting detection threshold needs to be set high enough so that banned players don't have the right to complain

When you say "Bans", are we talking 2 weeks off or GTFO? I'm quite ignorant of ToS obligations and gamers rites.

And how do you propose you do that? Since the glitch is cause by a networking issue which is often completely beyond the players control.

Pretty simple really. Look at the amount of time spent in glitched lobbies compared to non-glitched lobbies. Even a threshold of 100 promotions in glitched lobbies would be fine in my book.  Would much prefer just removing those promotions to bans, but I doubt that's possible.

Yet it is still called the "x2 glitch".

Finally someone is getting closer.

Wasn't referring to the amount of XP, rather time required per promotion.
