How would Shepard react if he/she knew about the journey to Andromeda?
As there's not much footage (yet) of ME:A I edited together a trailer with Shepard giving a little pep talk and some ME3 footage. I quite like the idea of the ark being sent in the panic of the Reaper war.
Hopefully I've been a little more inventive beyond just changing the music (although I'm a fan of the Cash soundtrack), let me know what you think

....personally I'm good with moving on to a new character.

Yeah well, that's what happens when you dedicate a series that spans five years to one character but end up leaving his fate ultimately up to headcanon.

I get the 5 year part, but it's fairly clear in all but one ending that Shepard is gone.
I think it's a bit unfair to say BioWare trolled people.
Who cares what Shepard thinks? S/He can go blow a Vorcha. His/Her peptalks put me to sleep. Lol
On the obsession point, I think people would've felt the same had Shepard been in just one of the games. Look at Hawke for example. I kind of get Hawke though... far more personality, no matter the dialogue options.
I definitely felt you could shape Hawke's personality more but felt you had more choices story-wise with Shepard. I think that Bioware's characters have generally improved throughout their games so I'm looking forward to see the protagonist and squad for Andromeda.
It'll be interesting to see if Bioware go for a more defined character as with Shepard & Hawke or if they go for a blank(ish) canvas like they did with the Warden and Inquisitor. I'm hoping for the latter.

Based on what he told the Alliance Military Leaders during the Prologue, I'd say he's all for it...
