Wanna know the true way to grind promotions?

What if I told you that most of you already do it?

The Answer:

FRIENDS!

I started playing DAIMP on New Years Day 2015.
Over the Aussie holidays I found myself in a group that tought me how to play.
Come Feb we all went our separate ways.
I ground away at Threatening Pugs for quite awhile, not getting very far but enjoying myself regardless.
I didn't have much of a friends list but I did add a few and I surfed reddit for a few more.

Then the Dragon Slayer DLC hit.

Suddenly everyone was in grind mode, and they needed a 4th.
I didn't have much BiS but I had Ele, Keeper, Archer n Katari down pat.
Now I'm getting chat party invites!
A day later I'm getting told "Buy a mic!"
So I did.
Within 2 weeks I'd gone from a casual daily Pugga to a fully kitted Peri power runner with double the promotions!
We chatted, laughed and grinded our way through FC until every last one of us was basking in each other's Uberness.

Most left for ESO.

I didn't.
I soloed Threat with lvl 1's and Peri with lvl 12's.
Then a few trickled back.
Hakkon Weapons,
Double XP weekend.

Suddenly I have new friends!!
Not as strong as me but the same desire for top shelf gear.

GRRRRIIIIIIND!!!!!!

Now, I'll openly admit I've used the latest loop hole.
And yes, it's improved my stats by 10%.

But.
I only have stats because of my friends.
They improved them 400%

I would like to send out a personal and sincere thanks to all those that have added me to their friends list and spent countless hours playing this wonderful game with me!!
It's been a blast and I'm so happy to be a part of your community

Have you noticed how all the haters are the ones stuck in their private little cocoons of suspicion and resentment.
"I got her the hard way!" They proclaim!
By milking off their friends and ignoring the poor inglorious pugtards that actually give the devs hope that their game will have more players and less whiners offering Bomb threats and nation wide bans.

My thread, tho it did not generate heartfelt praise for our community, was not aimed at isolation, subjugation, ridicule, hostility or selfrighteous indignation.
It was aimed at one simple fact.

I just feel weird,when host change from public to private.It's like they have some shenanigans on their mind (use Lego as precaution so I won't go down for shameless tea-bagging,taco-dipping, potato-sacking bastards)

For the record I have one friend on my list, and he stopped playing months ago.  I get it.  It's hard to coordinate playing time with people.  Myself, I only have a limited time to play each night because I wake at 5am every morning.(also the wife hates it )  That's why I don't bother friend requesting anyone.  Not trying to derail the positivity, though.

Nor am I saying that you must have friends.
But you can, it's in the code.
And they help.

OP speaks the truth. Friends will carry your lvl 1s through quick and easy perilous games and let you play NM at lvls you might not be able to pull off in pugs. Treasure rooms are either skipped entirely or emptied in an efficient manner while someone else clears the zone. Games also take a lot less time.

Okay I had to laugh at this its so true lol. I get 6 friend request aday

This is the truth. I've played a couple of games with some leaderboard guys and many of them are exceptionally knowledgeable about the game, far more so than just simple mechanics. Played with Drasca and Kmeeg for maybe 30, 45 minutes and learned more in that small amount of time than a month pugging. There are quite a few others as well. I mostly pug just because I like to jack around sometimes and experiment, but I'd love to gain some l33t friends and get after it. Leveling happens really quickly. Pugging, not so much. Such is the pug life.

It really depends on the player.

I played with someone in the top 3 pc, and he was average.
