The best way I could describe it is a "light-saber" type sound. I am assuming some of you have noticed it. Sometimes it will go away when someone leaves. Sometimes it will show up when a player joins. Any idea what that is? I haven't seen anything on the forum discussing.

It's the ghost of legacy console player base.
It's go away soon if you ignore it.

It's sort of the sound things make when you salvage them. It seems pretty random, though. At first, I thought it was the sound of a player in the lobby salvaging equipment. But there's been times when that noise has randomly happened when I'm just sitting on the main MP screen - not even in a lobby yet - and not even doing anything.
I always just chalked it up to some random, harmless sound glitch. Low priority fix sort of thing.

At first I thought it was the sound of people plugging/unplugging their headsets, but I am certain it is the exact same sound every time.
Hence, it has to come from the game directly, and it does sound "designed" enough to assume it's supposed to go with something.

I thought the sound originated from people leveling up. Using skill points to unlock passives and abilities.

Just testin.
Edit: get noise when selecting lvl 18 Assassin or lvl 17 Izzy. Both have Hakkon dagger.
Doesn't happen with lvl 17 Hunter, Heartstring bow.
Edit 2: tested changing to lvl 1 Reaver, Avvar n lvl 15 Katatri all with Hakkon's Valor. Reverb noise is generated on return from selection.
Not sure what generates loop
Edit 3: have now switched between every character and noise is generated only after selecting Hakkon equiped characters on return to profile screen.
Cause of loop still unknown.
This may be due to intoxicated state.
Hi DragonRacer! I think your pretty

I have had that noise occur when I have changed weapons on a character in-lobby, too. Like taking my Katari and switching from Sulevin Blade to Maul of the Dragon while we're between matches.

Yep, I'm pretty sure it is people spending ability points. It also makes the sound when someone switches characters.

Don't worry it's just the requisitions officer playing with his chests, "chest goes up, chest goes down, chest goes up, chest goes down"

Wondered this too, Is it perhaps the fire your character stands beside as it flares up periodically? I say this having no Hakkon weapons, and being at the main MP screen (not in a lobby).

Weapons equipped with fire runes make loud sounds, when in the lobby. Test it by loading different weapons on your characters and waiting for the noise to flare up. I'm not sure exactly which sounds jeremyj26 is referring to, but runes might be the cause.

nice. probably it. that thought jumped my head after I posted, but since I rarely use fire runes these days, I sloughed it off.
Conal, nothing personal, but i like double-spacing after a sentence; it makes a post look a little less cluttered. Blar, I like green, and I hope you do too. Billy there all good man, their all good; hey look over they're!! Damn, that's three right there. Here's hoping I do not get banned.

There are several different sounds in the lobby, one being a slashy sound that has been around for months and another more lightsaber-y sound that only started recently. Oh, and that "fwooooood" sound. Yes, that's the best way to describe it >.>
