We need an E-mail system that we can reply to... For example, those in ME2 or 3, who didn't want to reply back those E-mails you got or just simply browse the Extranet? I always wanted to tell Mom that I was fine or just simply send something to Kaidan/Anderson/Spam Udina's Mail :P or even schedule a meeting with Chorban (You know, the Salarian that scans the Keepers in ME1 and send you a message in ME2 about his discoveries) so that you can talk more with him and learn more actually... And then, we get the benefit of having completed the sidequest back on the previous game instead of just a simple E-Mail.

Instead of Shops (or in addition to them), we can have an Extranet Purchase (For example, you buy an Assault Rifle and it has a time schedule, so it will show up - be delivered - to your ship after 2 missions or some hours, using Real life time, like those Dragon Age Timed Missions)

And then, we have the Ads. Someone taunting the PC or even conversations that open new Extranet Sites we can visit or new Options on the Market...

You do have the option of ignoring everyone too, so...

Thoughts?

That would be cool...but I don't think any of that would be relevant in the Andromeda, if we are indeed explorers of an unknown galaxy and all on our own.

I personally liked the requisitions option the Normandy in ME3.  You had to pay more, but you could order straight from the ship.  And I am not a fan of real time waiting for stuff in games.  I like to pretend that time just passed when I click on a gun and instantly have it. (shudders at the memory of the 20-day wait for those damned satellites in Enemy Unknown...ick!!!)

I wonder if it would be called the "extranet" in ME:A.  I'm sure the MW species and the Andromeda species will be running on the same... framework for internet?  Would be cool.  In GTA4 you could browse the internet and go on some dating sites.  Would be cool to be able to browse from your personal terminal to "shop" for gear, and communicate with various NPCs in the game.

It'd be interesting to see fully fleshed out text chat conversations on the extranet. It would allow the writers to add in a few extra conversations without the hassle of VO and animation.

Only if its limited like the GTA in-game browser stuff is.

You have can respond to emails, but its just a click of a button. Allowing the player custom input is unnecessary save for being able to pick between three tones of response (COMPLETE WITH COLOR CODING!)

Sure OP but only if we can go in the Fornax site and get a virus on our computer that will be affecting our ship. :P

Seriously I like the shops to be old style to speak with the guy/girl and barter a bit, having a friendly conversation and learn more about the place. traditional RPG style.

Yeah, extranet purchases light years away from the Milky Way.

I know ads are annoying, but honestly not that much.

Yea, an email response system, similar to Alpha Protocol would be cool. It shouldn't be hard to implement either, it's just a bit of text after all.

As for browsing some sort of extranet, I am not a big fan of the idea. I usually don't like simulated internet equivalents and such. Because of the constraints of any game, I always feel like your actions are too restricted to make it feel right. Even the better examples (like the GTA IV internet) were weird for me to use.

I doubt there is going to be an extranet at all in Andromeda.

I'd like to see vidmail myself. Doesn't have to be everybody, but I think it'd be a nice addition.

If they stick to pure text, then coming up with different options might not be all that much work. Still... who would you write? Andromeda probably has no extranet you are familiar with.
