My tempest archer is using longbow of the griffon, which I've seen a lot of people have said it's the best bow. But are any of the jaws of hakkon bows better?
THE best bow including hakkon

For sheer damage output, the JoH bow schematic Hakkon's Wrath is the best. According to Wikia, it has 32 leather offense slots. You have to pretty near finish the JoH main quest to get it, though.
Personally, I prefer the Grunsmann's Bow Schematic from the Black Emporium. It's relatively affordable, so all you need to get it is gold. It has 20 leather offense slots. You can get this schem at a much lower level than you can get Hakkon's Wrath.
If you meant loot bows, the JoH Hakkon's Wrath is the best.

From Black Emporium, I suppose The Fowl Wind is the best, but it's not that good compared to the schematic options above.
YMMV, Wikia is not immune to errors
BTW, the Longbow of the Griffin is cool in all, since it shoots three arrows, but unless you are fighting dragons or giants or large compact mobs, the other two arrows usually miss anyway. For loot bows, Tenasarin is better and easier to get, but I usually craft Grunsmann's Bow.

It's hard to say what is the best weapon for a class. A lot depends on your gear, play style, teammates, etc. I generally refer to this link.

There are a few places I disagree with it. But it gets you close. And close is good enough in DA:I.

Grunsmann's Bow Schematic for Critical Chance and Bow of the Beresaad Schematic for Critical Damage. The reason for this is that both of them can be upgraded by a Thick Longbow Grip while Hakkon's Wrath Schematic cannot.

In my opinion bow of the griffon is more of the joke than actually useful weapon, you can still shoot someone with it but best bow? Never. First place, in my opinion, goes to Grunsmann's Bow Schematic + Thick Longbow Grip Schematic or Masterwork Bound Longbow Grip Schematic. Second place Hakkon's Wrath Schematic you can't use grip with it and he look's like crap, that's why second place.

What about the Perseverance bow schematic?
Basically a weaker Hakkon's Wrath.

Is the bow of the beresad worse than gunsmans?
Also perseverance has no grip slot.
I really wish that schematics told you if they had a grip/haft or not. Sucked grabbing avenger and finding it had neither.

Go by the amount of secondary slots in the crafting recipe if they seem unusually high it means they have no upgrade slots. Archon Fire Staff and Staff of Violation for example both have way more secondary slots than Wrath of Lovias, the first two don't have upgrade slots, while the last one does.

Gunsmans, like take the chance over damage. if i shoot 3 arrouws and hit with a crit 2 out of three and pull 3000-4000 in damage that works well. I have built a very high damage perseverance bow and loaded up in other ways to get my crit chance up. That bow, with the right items to bring up my chance to crit has done 9000-1200 damage 2 out 4 or 5 shots, maybe even a little better than that on an average.
