Varric, get up on that hill!

Blackwall will block the path, Bull and I will charge in from the side. Got it? GO!

No...no Varric stay up there...Blackwall, guard that area, STOP running around oh awesome Bull is down.

- My nightmare playthrough in a nutshell

Exactly.

Varric when I told you to go up that hill, I meant stay there.

The biggest problem with the tactical play in general is that the tactical view exists. If you made each character do what they're told in action mode it would be so much smoother.

But no, character control is only available in tac cam mode. So they implemented a solid AI an tactics system to make up for it, right?

*snicker*

The game was made for multiplayer. They apparently thought everyone would be playing MP so they didn't have to bother with companion AI or tactics.. or something.

Tactical view is... hardly tactical. The way the camera works and how the max camera distance is set in tac cam, I have a better overview of the situation from the regular TPP view... It's terrible.

The thing I hate the most about the camera is that it has to follow the path a character could take instead of actually being free floating, and then intervening objects aren't made transparent.
