Very nice!
The dwarf is probably quite happy that he can fart without stirring a lot of grumbling.
These look dirty enough to me. The water is still clear and pale. Once its brown and opaque it will look plenty nasty me thinks ![]()
PJ
Finally this sewer has a door tile ! Not sure why a sewer would need a door, though... maybe to prevent the stench from propagating too easily ? ![]()
A floor variant. I'll probably make some others with grates.
LOVE that Meta Tile! Very very nice.
Are you planning to make custom waterfall like VFX for those side drain ditches, so the water runs with the geometry?

Screw waterfalls...giant tentacle monster FTW!

Nice work. With a little modifcation that metatile could be turned into the sewage pit in Baldur's Gate 2. (The one in Irenicus' dungeon, with the otyugh.)
That looks very cool indeed.
and a bit sludgy too ... ![]()
PJ
I don't have an Otyugh at hand, but a shambling mound should do the trick...
I'm working on fixing that
Some screenshots of the ladder tile :
This one was difficult to build, because there was not enough space to carve a curved recess in the wall in order to put the ladder. And I didn't want to simply place the ladder against the wall. So I decided to build this kind of alcove, which is a good compromise, I think.
And 3 different shapes for the one-tile room.
It's a good design for a straight wall section. Are you going to have a corner ladder?

I'm not sure, it's a lot of work ![]()
I'll probably make one for the hall ending tile, though.
I was thinking you could turn the ladder/alcove 45 degrees then extend the alcove ends out along 45 degree angles until they meet the side walls. Or maybe just nestle the alcove into the corner at a 45 degree angle. Not sure how much work that would be for you though.
This is the end_hall tile.
Yes, turning the ladder 45 degrees and extend the alcove ends is not very difficult. The hard part would be to cut the roof correctly in order to make the hole for the access pit -the roof can't be turned 45 degrees, like the walls.
This is a very good looking tile set Calister. I like the grate design and the hall end ladder.
The wall ladder in the corridor seems a compromise though. You might want to consider it as another tile.
I'm thinking the corridor tile with a ladder would be the single wall and 2 pillars giving three open walls. The ladder could then be in a hall end tile much as you have it but a very short hall. It would all be in a slight recess but the ladder would not intrude into the tile.
It's another tile I know but perhaps this would suit your vision better?
PJ
Mmmh... I think I see what you mean. It's a good idea, but the only problem is the roof, it would need two roofs variants for the connecting tile to make the acess pit (I'm not sure to be clear
). Quite confusing for the modders.
I changed the grate design somewhat, with two variants : one open, the other closed.
It's all looking really good. Nice job!
I just finished my second metatile : a curve for the large channel. On this screenshot, you can see the strange shape of the roof, due to the deleted pillars which were standing on the path of the channel. Not really accurate in terms of architecture, but funny, so I'll let it like that - I suppose nobody really cares about the shape of the roof, except when you want to take screenshots ![]()
Here you can see the metatile alone in the toolset (it's a 3x3 metatile, like the first one). I took inspiration from the rws sewers for this one ![]()
The work is progressing well, most of the remaining tiles to build are stairs or doors variants, so it's just a matter of copy/paste and adjusting the vertices. Not really difficult, but time consuming. Some of the tiles, like the 1 wall_2 corners, have reached 20 different variants, quite a huge number due to the two main shapes of this tileset, the small and large channel, each requiring a large number of variants.
Calister you truly do fantastic work!
one day can i pick your brain about texture creation and placement?
Thank you Hellfire !
Yes, it'd be a pleasure to give you some advices, although I'm certainly not the more competent on this matter ![]()
