Dear Mrs. DragonRacer,

 

       As the instigator of the competitive side of this competition I felt obliged to make the following statements.

 

Upon discovering JAMiAM's jovial tongue in cheek proposal I wanted to escalate it to draw attention to something light-hearted and fun.

Our community is currently divided over the xp glitch and there has been a lot of anger from the PS3/XBox360 crowd. It was my wish to show the community that 'the game" is something we can love and laugh about

 

At no point was it my intention to put pressure on you or hold you to any unreasonable obligations. No one has paid to play and I have not paid for any prises (yet). The fact you are willing to pay to participate is very honourable but entirely unnecessary. From what I have seen and read in this thread, everyone is behind you, and win, lose or draw (there are no draws) we all appreciate your participation and applaud every effort you have made, specifically for the community in general

 

Perhaps we should change the title from "competition" to "celebration" as 10 pages of friendly banter can attest to

And certainly feel free to open 1K chests!!!

 

I watched your 2nd Twitch stream and befriended you on PS4 in order to help your gold grind and hopefully I'll get another chance on the weekend

Unless of course your tired, hungover, burnt out, making out, out to dinner, or breakfast, or whatever else you feel like doing.

 

The only true requirement of this competition is that YOU HAVE FUN!! Burn out is not acceptable and please never feel obliged to any of us to undertake something you don't enjoy. We will never hold it against you. Your well loved

Alas, I have run out of "likes" again.

 

Thanks for tuning in and thank you, K_A_Rnage, for your kind words. I let a bad day get the best of me and if anyone is guilty of pressuring, it's me always pressuring myself. But I have bopped my own nose with a rolled-up newspaper and sufficiently told myself just play when you feel like it and have fun, don't turn the game into a grind or un-fun. So, no worries!

 

Today was, again, not the day. Trolled for the third day in a row now with no purple cards at all. Very unusual. Got a few matches in with Texasmotiv and even tried Nightmare for the first time (we made it to Zone 4, at least). All in all, a fun night.

Okay, to be fair and open and since October dates are starting to be picked:

 

I would caution against picking any October dates between the 17th and the 25th. I say this because October 20th is our 8th wedding anniversary and we're taking the week off work (plus we have the weekend before and after that week off anyway because it's the weekend).

 

We don't currently have any plans to travel anywhere, but that could change. If we don't go anywhere, then we'll both likely be gaming everyday anyway.

 

So, pick at your own risk.

 

It's funny... A similar such event is what inspired my choosing of that date... Great minds think alike? 

 

Personally, though, I don't much mind the risk. It's all in good fun! I'll stick with the date I picked.

We all know the probability to get an item is directly proportional to how much you want it.

And we all know you really really really want a HoK ring thus your chances are about 1/10000000000000....000 of getting it.

The only possible way you're gonna get it is if someone at Bioware craft a chest with a 100% drop rate. Even then, I'm sure RNGesus will see there have been an error and will correct it on the fly!!!

 

P.S. I still hope you get it someday

Strictly speaking, this is inverse proportion. A see-saw is a good analogy. When one side goes up ... the other breaks off and everyone ends up in a heap on the floor with a pain in their _______s. (Fill in the gap for yourselves.)

Which is not in the millions like many other folks. However, I have also spent... um, quite a bit here and there on Platinum... which does not get reflected in the gold earned/spent challenge, so there's kind of no way for me to really know where I fall.

 

I've been going by the amounts of purples that have been dropping for me in the past two months or so, whereby I basically have the vast majority of purples available save for any SHOK rings. The fact that I have all the dragon weapons, Sulevin, Thunderstrike, Heartstring Bow, etc leads me to logically conclude I'm fairly high in the bucket? Surely high enough that it's incredibly unusual to have not gotten one single SHOK ring yet, while others are salvaging their 10th one left and right.

I know I am taking aim at you too often, Dragon, but in my wicked heart I am really wishing you all the luck. Hok ring is one of, if not the most important gear in game. 

RNG is cruel beast at times, I probably mentioned this before, but I had to wait 6 months before I got my first decent dagger, while my friend was salvaging his 4th dragon dagger and I got my first Hok at around 900k spent. 

Just keep hanging there, your ring will come

10000 is current cap

 

493605 / 1200 * 5 = 2056 item score

 

then you can add in your platinum and estimated treasure rooms (I would guess, but I'm PROBABLY wrong, that you won't be any higher than 3000-4000 item score at the moment)

 

Your score is still high enough to pull purples though, just less frequently.

 

I feel your pain indeed.  

 

Just let it be known I spent 1.2million gold and £40 platinum before I saw my first SHOK ring.....so don't feel bad about not getting one yet.  Yeah I've played a lot since January....

I've spent over a mil and have never had Sulevin, Thunderstrike, or Caliban, and only have the one SHOK ring, while I have two of every other ring and have gotten all the necklaces/belts multiple times. But I finally got Blade of Red Birth in a FC chest a couple of days ago so there's hope. Not that I need it anymore, but still..
