I would love to see an expansion like awakening for inquisition. Only a few companions might remain, maybe just our love interest? Leaving us with other inquisition members to travel with... Harding comes to mind, Krem, Sutherland, Barris or Fiona depending on which side you choose. Awakening was awesome, i loved meeting new people and getting some camps from DAO, that is where a lot of my choices shined through. Something similar for inquisition would be perfect. 35 level cap new specializations cooler schematics(at least some more varied armor), maybe class or race specific quest line the possibilities are huge. I'm sorry but the ending (as is) sucks. The fight with corififish, meh, the improvements to skyhold, meh. I spent too much time gathering blood lotus and finding quarries to beat a final boss level in under twenty minutes. Awakening had a better mechanic with upgrading the base. I loved every quest line before the endgame in inquisition, even What Pride Had Wrought was fun AF but after... not so fun. I love this game but i feel slightly underwhelmed by its ending... please give me a endgame i can play over and over again.

Also add in a DLC to change the opening sequence, instead we start at the conclave. We get some sort of fun dialogue options some background on the war, anything. if i hadn't read Asunder, i would have no idea what was happening. But even after reading Asunder i get lost in where i fit in at the conclave. Just some context would have been nice for the start of game. Maybe even a quick cutscene so we can at least see where our inquisitor comes from...

I shall hold out hope that whomsoever said that about making large expansions never happening has had a change of heart or was consumed by one of the remaining old gods as they slumbered.

The funny part of this, CDPR has never released any Awakening sized expansion either, or even any expansion for that matter.

I too would love to see an expansion similar in scope to Awakening. Unfortunately, I believe I read somewhere that Awakening was not cost efficient for them. It's possible that with the new graphics engine, and by cutting out the past gen, they might be able to do something similar, but I wouldn't hold out too much hope. We may get something similar to ME's Citadel DLC, though I couldn't tell you any figures regarding it. Either way, I really hope their next DLC focuses on our characters and their companions (and story, of course).

Lol, classic response from a fanboy. Maybe you should have done some research before dishing out any accusation...

Seriously, they have, to this date, not ever released any expansions, period. So they plan to release one for TW3, has it happened yet? Well? I'll be waiting right over here for that answer.

What does CDPR even have to do with this?

Bioware has already proven they release full sized DLC and expansions, so this comment isn't even constructive. Besides lets compare witcher and dragon age. both awesome, both fantasy, both rpgs...  shame we live in a world where only one RPG can be made. i got it. cancel elder scrolls and dragon age. throw mass effect and fallout in there too. we only get to play the witcher from now on.  that doesn't sound fun. if you aren't going to add anything constructive to a post why even comment?

Not really, you get proven wrong then claim what a company is currently doing and selling doesn't matter. They are putting out 2 full blown expansions, you can buy them now, today, in this very moment through the season pass, that isn't a hypothetical expansion. But for that matter Bethesda did too with Skyrim, Dawnguard and Dragonborn, Borderlands has done it, many, many game companies can, have and are currently doing it.

I'm not sure what point you are trying to make. That BioWare with DA:I shouldn't do what other companies are able to find profitable? You don't want them to add a lot of extra content post release?

I really love expansions, I'm not sure why BioWare abandoned the idea after one go at it. I haven't seen sales figures of Awakening but people say it didn't do well. That doesn't mean an expansion can't be profitable. I loved playing Dragonborn for Skyrim and would love to see something like that be embraced in Dragon Age again.

I recall hearing something like that too. I dont know, making free MP DLC for micro transaction is like all they care about now.... so.. Which worries me. No huge expansion but rather multiple DLCs. So how many 15 bucks DLC will it cost us to finish the story of the Inquisitor.

or we just going to get a $25 Solas DLC that is 5 hours in length to conclude DAI... while introducing us to the next antagonist in DA4...

I fear that we will never see the epic conclusion of DAI in the form of a long huge DLC. I hope I am wrong. I really do.

I don't know what kind of drugs you guys are taking, but what ever it is I don't want any. You have proven nothing, and my statement as it stands right now is still true. CDPR has no expansions to date. It is completely irrelevant that you can pony up your cash for the planned content now, it's still not done and you can not go download it or play it. So put down the pipe and stop trolling the BioWare forums with your tunnel vision view of CDPR.

Your statement makes zero sense and doesn't address the topic of the this thread. "CDPR never put out an expansion ever, ignore those links showing they are making two as we speak."

As for trolling look under my avatar, I'm a BioWare customer, bought all DLC for 5 games now too but you can't see those under the games I bought so figured I'd mention it. I don't take any illegal drugs, thank you for suggesting otherwise though, and people can and do like more than one company.

Many companies put out expansion packs, I like them. I also would like BioWare to make them again.

Yeah, you are right, that sound's like trolling...

LMAO. You are quite an entertainment aren't you? You got proven wrong deal with it and move on.

Back on topic as requested by luckslevens, I don't think the current Bioware can pull it off with a full expansion, the old Bioware might, but definitely not the current Bioware. I mentioned CDPR because that company reminds me of the good old Bioware back in the Baldur's Gate days. Saddly, the good Bioware is all in the past now.

Sad but what you told is true and I expect this will be exactly as you say. It's much more profitable to release short overpriced DLC then to release real long game like awakening witch cost much more to make and give less profit in return. And look at all Items packs for 5 euro for items really? double it and you can buy full game.

Two actually are coming... and we have confidence in them because what they released in the main game was, quite frankly, the most impressive surprise of the year. while DAI was the most disappointing.

They gave us real stories, hundreds of hours worth. DAI gave us a short main quest and a bunch of MMO style chores.

We have confidence, because they blew dai right out of the water.

I'm pretty sure the cancelled Exalted March expansion for DA2 also had something to do with their decision to no longer do expansions.

I mean if Awakening didn't do well considering Origin's success, how well was EM going to do for 2? Probably not very well given the reception of 2 itself, and that retailers told BW they wouldn't stock an Ultimate Edition version given that they had so many unsold copies of 2 on the shelves already.

What I find it funny is that no one said that. But CDPR does have two huge ones planned for TW3, something that DA fans want Bioware to do with DAI and that's basically what the OP is asking for, so coldflame's argument is completely valid, you just tried to distort it.

This blind hate people have for CDPR and TW in general is laughable.

I'm all for an expansion, why not? I enjoy playing Inquisition's story and would very much like to see extended further with additional content. There is nothing inherently unprofitable about an expansion, it just depends what's in the expansion and how well it is marketed to the consumer.

Bethesda made two expansions for a game that game out in 2011. Awakening was released in 2010. There's not much of a gap there. Also, BioWare planned and started development on an expansion for DA2 that was to be released in 2012, but which unfortunately had to be cancelled.

Anyway, I don't think anyone here is saying they actively don't want an expansion. It's just that people understand that expansions might not be appropriate for every game. It might be profitable for some companies to make expansions for some games, but that does not mean it is necessarily a wise move or that it would be a profitable venture for every game ever made.

Personally, I think DA:I stands up very well in its own right and doesn't need an expansion though I would certainly be happy if one did come out. Also, JoH has about 12 hours of content for a completionist playthrough (or leisurely playthrough) which is approaching expansion sized by the standards of many games from 10-20 years ago when expansions were more common.

I believe what they said was stand alone expansions are too expensive to produce, as opposed to dlc which works off of the main game. I believe there's is a chance for a large story based dlc, but I don't know if it will be the size of Awakening.
