I loved The Arrival DLC, one of my favorite ME DLC, next to the Citadel. But I really loved doing that solo missions. Do you think there should be more of that in ME:A? Or should they just focus on squadbased combat?

I think the major challenge is when you are a class in a situation that you weren't designed for. I know citadel was hard when you had no anti shield abilities.
I like Arrival. More for talking with Harbinger than anything.
I wouldn't mind solo missions. I also wouldn't mind soloing the whole game if possible.
Solo missions tend to be my least favourite part of anything. One reason I prefer party-based games. Or even just games where you have a partner for most scenes, even if they don't help much in combat (like Enslaved or The Last of Us).
I wouldn't mind a solo mission, but the reason for us being alone would have to be good.
Yes!
One or two solo missions are ok with me but we'd need to have a good reason to be alone.
Citadel was ok, that made sense. Arrival on the other hand, with Hackett's "go in undetected" thing had me frowning. I mean, I get it if Shep is an infiltrator but if he is, say a vanguard and I have the likes Thane and Kasumi on board, then why exactly should I not take them?
So, as long as it fits, I'd be ok with it.
They can be nice. I'd like them to be rather small and rare though since I like my buddies and there is tons of games I can run around alone. But they are nice change in pace.
Yes 1, 2 or 3 missions like that, some thing like pitch black and you have to find your way out.
Yes, the more variety the better - I'd like solo missions, missions with just one squaddie and missions with more than two. Anything that gets away from the rigid "party" structure of CRPGs is a good thing.

That's a not bad idea. Could be good for tutorial.
You are on the ship, something goes wrong and you get separated.
You have the introduction to a character movement and combat then you find your squad mates and have the introduction to party control and party combat. ![]()
Back to topic. Yes, definitely yes but like it was already stated here, 2 or 3 not more. This will be Mass Effect game after all.
I'd like to have one, but make it so that you can complete the mission anyway. Don't make it like goddam Splinter Cell where you fail the mission if you're detected.

Headshot everything, it's the solution to all problems.

Let's be honest... the AI in the game was holding me back. I usually killed everything before my team was even in range. If I could have played solo, I would have... in the end I chose my companions for the cutscene dialogue and perhaps for banter, not for any combat related role.
Yes!! Arrival was great.
I'd prefer being able to take every single companion out with you. You are supposed to be a squad after all (about 12 soldiers in real life - varies per nation), and yet most of your 'squadmates' spend 80% of the game fiddling with their... thumbs on the Normandy. Balance the game around having 6 people with you at all times, please!
i think solo missions are okay... but the lack of extra banter sorta bothers me... that, and the ai, especially when it gets upgraded with the whole extra shields, armour and barrier crap that came with ME2's insanity. that was really annoying when trying to survive all five waves in the battle for object rho. and on solo!

I think since a few people don't want to be forced to do solo missions, I think there should be options. For those wanting a bit more challenge, some should be done with 1 squadmate or solo.
I would love to do an Engineer on insanity and attempt to solo every mission.
I don't really like solo combat in ME, one of the best things about the game is the squad-based combat imo. I did like Arrival despite going solo though, it was still a pretty good DLC overall.
For ME:A, going solo should be optional, rather than mandatory.
