Now that Disney wants to make as many SW games as possible, Will you Bioware make us a new Kotor game? You know this is what the community wants and what I've been waiting for the past 10yrs and I think that now is the right time to begin development for a game based in the SW universe with Episode 7 and 2 new games from Dice and Visceral games coming out soon now is the best time to make a new SW game.

Real talk, TOR is better than KotOR.

No Obsidian should do. Bioware should just stick to Tor.

99% of people don't care for mmorpgs... We just want a good solid not clustered gameplay screen with AAA cinematics and high quality storyline/world design that only single-player games can give you.

Though the only thing I liked about Swtor was being a Bounty Hunter.

Because the fact that more people are playing it with you makes it harder to design it? Okay.

Not just that. Literally everything, even the combat, is better than KotOR. The story is better. The characters are better. Even Revan was better, going from potato to insane psychopathic potato. KotOR is the most overrated piece of Bio copy-and-paste I have ever seen.

But not everybody plays only pc and likes to play only online or the what...100 hot keys!? We need a 'modern' SW single-player game like Mass Effect. But yes the short story was pretty good and I somewhat like it just because I like the sw universe.

ToR is a mediocre MMO in my opinion.

but we still aren't very likely to get KotoR 3 while it's running.

Neither BioWare or Avellone-less Obsidian could make a good KotOR game, especially when AAA development is very narrow in many ways. Just let it die.

What the world needs is more Jedi Knight games tbh. Knowing the current AAA climate, they'd be cutscene fests with limited gameplay depth, crappy level design and DLC up the ass. Still, would be infinitely preferable to what kind of Mass Effect type clone that a modern KotOR would be.

While i do agree the game has some good characters like Marr, Malgus, Jadus, Vitiate Dread Masters, Baras etc and writing is strong in Warrior and Agent plotlines.

What they did with old characters however is pathetic, Revan had strong legacy around him and they completely shat on everything by turning him into a madman who wants to destroy everything just so he could kill the emperor, it goes against everything what his character was before. They killed Exile for no good reason, her purpose in ToR is pointless. Same can be said for Kreia, again BW ressurecting dead characters when they serve no purpose.

None of which has anything to do with what I said. Every plotline is better than that drab that people worship in KotOR. Sure some characters from KotOR II got hit with the stupid stick, but as that was done in a novel, outside of Kreia's random appearance, that TOR as a whole has almost nothing to do with, that's really irrelevant.

JK's story is a complete KotOR clone, and it's still somehow better than KotOR simply by revamped combat, less boring characters, and less Carth.

''But, ... But SWTOR is already KOTOR 3,4,5,6,7 AND 8 !!! ''

Says Bioware

SWTOR is fun and all, a solid MMO. But I still long for a proper Star Wars single player RPG. Whether that RPG is in the KOTOR era or elsewhere, just give a solid story in the star wars universe and we've got a good base for an awesome game  :)

Though, if the rest of Star Wars universe is non-canon, this means Bioware would have free reign to do KOTOR 3 and pretend that story doesn't exist. I'm find with Revan's story in SWTOR, but I wouldn't mind going on another adventure with my old pal  ;)

Perhaps. Story wise they are similar. Combat can be argued as revamped, but the constant grinding and repetition kills whatever drive I had to get into combat.

And Carth was never that bad...

Well, I happen to think KotOR 3 makes a lot of sense.

The problem is that EA seem to be somewhat wary of things that make a lot of sense.

And I can sort of understand them, understand why. There is a mysterious trend in game development/publishing, where you make a 'sequel' or 'remaster' of an old, beloved game, and then remove all the typical game play sense, features, the very core mindset that it was about to play this old game, the atmosphere, and then deliver something that is as much as possible the typical, generic console videogame, all built around some really murky, greedy and ill-advised brainchilds of some idiot marketer . With just the title and pretense of gameplay goals slapped on.

When you've done this a few times (and yeah, DA2 too) to successful game ideas which haven't been visited for decades despite keen gamer interest, I can well understand why long awaited sequels don't look like such a good idea any longer. There is a negative lash out which isn't present to the same degree with new franchises.

Btw, in fact, they've already done it to KotOR. SWTOR is it.

Game developer1: ...Well, too bad about Sim City. - Hey, what about old Dungeon Keeper? It still has a lot of mindshare, you know. Lots of people are asking for a sequel.

Marketing dude: - Oh yea! We in the marketing department have developed this very innovative and fantastic scheme of customer payments. Let's use Dungeon Keeper for that!

Game developer2: but...

Boss trying to meet goals: If I understand you right, the basic mechanism is already planned out? You only have to apply a little Dungeon Keeper skin?

Marketing dude: Exactly! Maybe not quite, but the developers should be able to do this in their sleep. It'll be perfect.

Thanks to the numerous things SWtOR had effect on in the SWKotOR timeline I would rather Bioware jumps even farther back into the past and does a Star Wars Knights of the Ancient Republic.

Considering you don't need to grind  or even pretend this is an MMO to get to 50 anymore, and haven't for some time, okay? And Carth was definitely that bad.

At least in Kotor the Sith has their own super weapon instead of stealing the republics. Because apparently the Sith are now incapable of making their own super weapons.
