I have a strict definition of 'active player'.
How many players in your region?

PS4, Western Europe.
LAN.
Pugging is easy unless playing at night on perilous. I recognize a lot of people on perilous, so the PS4 perilous playerbase can't be too high.

You can't be serious! Or your are a really new players, Otherwise I would have been aware of your existence.
I play at late nights too, and my definition of late night is like from 12 am to 6 am. If you happen to play at these hours, feel free to friend request me.
I've started playing MP in June. Use to play between 10pm and 1am. And a lot more on weekends.

I was in U.S. west coast last month though and bumped into quite a few BSNers, I feel jelly for you guys;)
I just hope this region lock thing won't become a standard for future Bioware MP games.

There are quite a few players on PC on East Coast during peak hours. I just played 5 or 6 perilous pugs and all of them with different people with names I don't recognize from previous games. Some runs were good, others were bad but the game is not completely dead yet. Nobody plays beta though. And pugging nightmare or heartbreaker is in general a bad idea. Even if by accident you can find a lobby, it usually is a disaster.

East Asia here/PC, PUG is pretty much ghost town, active players capable of doing Perilous+ is like 5~6 in total. I can only rely on my friend list while there are 2-3 people still playing.

Ahh...that explains why we were able to get matched in the same lobby that day.

PC/Europe
LAN and a very good connection
When I PUG I mostly end up full/filling Lobbies (tho some days ago Peri was horrible empty, instead I saw Lvl 20s in Threatening idk what happened...)
When i try to play with friends (I only have 4 ._.) I get lag *looks at Gya* if I host myself, I don't.
I don't even understand how you people can play this game without lag. Don't you find it really disorientating when you don't rubberband around over the map? And the enemies look scary, I prefer it when they're invisible. Also, those times where I suddenly can't move at all are the only time I get to sit back and think about things during my hectic schedule. Ah, and the zombie enemies. Sure, that venatori mage may have actually died 20 seconds ago, but watching him doing his high speed waddle run never grows old. Don't even get me started on being able to use potions, lag has saved me from wasting potions so many times.

Yeah good times! Also ran into Webfoo, Ricksmiley and N7SP3CRER during my short stay too, reminds me of how fun the game would be if it worked as intended.
This region-lock thing is tearing Thedas apart, I can hear Cory and his Archdemon laughing loudly.

I even got killed by a zombie-Archer once, those things can actually deal damage without a healthbar, creepy true undead

Me too,but considering it is the same engine,it will be,imo.
But,on the bright side,ME3MP was vastly more popular,so maybe ME:AndromedaMP will be as successful.

Free MP->P2P. Interesting, would they implement both P2P and dedicated paid servers?

If the mp game model stays the same as ME3 and DAMP (up to 4 players PvE),I don't think we'll see dedicated servers.

ME:A should have hopefully learned from the mistakes of previous Frostbite3 games and should at its core address the issues that have been prevalent throughout current titles.
P2P seems to have issues regardless of bandwidth so the code has to be engineered with that in mind.
ME:A is still probably 12 months away so hopefully testing and xp can iron out the inherent issues as P2P is the future of MP gaming.
Once publishers don't have to provide hardware servers and can still provide a quality product we will see another escalation in premium content at acceptable prices rather than being dished up with the sub par experiences of today's market.
Destiny, DAIMP, ESO, BF4 have all been riddled with MP issues but they are the testing ground for current gen improvements.
COD still uses last gen tech and is stable as a rock. Give it time for devs to cement their code in stone and our future will again grow exponentially.
It won't take too long

Some of my friends had high hope for DAMP due to impression of ME3MP, now most of them have moved on or back to ME3MP. I think after this players will be more cautious buying any Bioware titles solely for MP portion.
For me, I'll still buy ME:A for its single player, but probably won't touch the MP if it sucks (netcode, RNG, etc).

I hope so, maybe they're still learning things about the new engines, they'd better be quick enough though.
I can connect to players from the other side of the globe in Borderlands and ME3MP (both using UE3), of course it'll be laggy but at least I can move and shoot things. If I do so in DAIMP, I'll just stuck in place or endless black screen.

To be honest, the most disorienting thing I ever had, was when I:
- couldn't turn my camera (except with the keys Q E A D)
- the skillbar had vanished
- the names/lifebars of my fellow PUGs AND enemies were invincible
I could fight and kill, but I must've looked like I didn't knew what I was doing.
Was that really bad lag? Never had that happen before. (I had joined an ongoing Threatening game)

PC. Playing MP since mid-May.
Noticed many new players since the free MP was offered (maybe 30-35 new names)
I pug 7-10 pm EST on weekdays, more on weekends and have no problem finding a lobby (threatening/perilous).

Comcast Xfinity stuff, whatever on the technical specs, I can barely figure out how to turn the Xbox on, much less tell you about such mysterious concepts as baud rates or ping. (I do enjoy a good game of Pong though...)
I see a core group of about 40 or so people each week with a generous scattering of somewhat familiar folks, followed by a surprising amount of players I am completely unfamiliar with. I usually play from 10pm to 3am, with binge gaming on my days off. My "region" seems to be the whole United States, as I am regularly paired with individuals from all corners. Rooms on all levels aside from NM/HB easy to find and fill. (As if I am looking to PUG HB, just threw that in there so you all think I am, ahem "leet.")
I cannot vouch for how conscious all these people are, but they are in lobbies.
