As we know, the popular Mobile Suit Gundam has several AUs, like SEED, G fighter, Wing, 00 and the like, along with it's main timeline, UC. 

 

Announced Earlier this month was Mobile Suit Gundam Iron Blooded Orphans. It takes place in the post disaster era I believe. Kinda like Fallout meets Gundam I think.

"The series will take the closest-ever look in Gundam’s 35-year history at the bonds and clashes between its protagonists and the drama of their growth to adulthood, telling the story of a band of young boys and the changes their own maturation spurs in the “Gundam”.

Led by Anohana director Tatsuyuki Nagai and written by Mari Okada, IRON-BLOODED ORPHANS will feature an all-star staff of mechanical design by Naohiro Washio, Kanetake Ebikawa, Ippei Gyoubu, Kenji Teraoka, and Tamotsu Shinohara, with character concepts by Yu Ito designed for animation by Michinori Chiba and music by Masaru Yokoyama".

 

Though there is an anime thread, I felt the need to create a thread for this. I am simply hyped for this series and I hope it'll be great. 

 

Anyone else share the same hype that I have? I know there are other Gundam fans in the forum.

Was hyped until i saw that plebeian Mari Okada(what can she even contribute to a gundam series that inst teen aganst drama or lame shoujo fluff) involved in it. Ill take anything over reconguista though but im positive this is going to suck.

We'll see how it turns out. I don't think it'll suck but in all honesty Gundam needs new AUs, ones that don't suck like AGE or Reconguista. Iron Blooded Orphans cannot afford to be a let down.

I still have hopes for this, i dont really have a choice but to hope.Build Fighters and Unicorn was the only thing giving me my gundam fix over the years. I thought RG would fix the bad taste that AGE left but uhhh. Please let this be good, cmon Sunrise.

I really haven't watched build fighters but I heard it was good. Unicorn however was purely amazing and I still need to watch the Origin.

It happened to me once I went to watch JoJo and I ended up watching Gundam and I was like "How could a mech that size contain Dio's massive ****?!"

 

I then realised my mistake.

 

Hahah this isn't Jojo!

 

I have to watch this everyday. It's my sole reason for living.
