In what sense is Ash the "right choice"? Besides LI aspects, of course.
Kaiden's a putz.
He's also a powerful biotic who outranks her. We're not exactly tripping over human biotics yet in 2185, so those two things together suggest that he's not the optimal nuke, strategically speaking at any rate.
The context obviously differs from playthrough to playthrough, though. There's no "right" answer.

I had no idea how to respond to that part.
When in doubt, krogan headbutt.

The right choice on Virmire should depend on your analysis of the battlefield situation. Do you feel that protecting the bomb is the most important thing? Go back to it then. Do you trust the bomb will detonate even with Saren's forces attacking it? Go to the tower and evacuate the Salarian squad (as they are a valuable resource in the war). The identity of the squadmate at each place shouldn't matter.

Honestly for me I always go to who has the nuke as I read it as that area might not be secure and so if they fall the mission fails.(I understand others read the tactical situation in the opposite way, I just recently went the other route to at least see it) My first playthrough ashley had the nuke, subsequent ones I kept it that way as well for the same reason. It seemed to me Kaiden was the better choice for the comms position.
On a class level if I were to use that as a justification I'd always kill Kaiden in my main playthroughs as I always play as a biotic on my main. So ashley covered my solider card, I covered the biotics and then i pick up someone else for tech. so killing Kaiden(really saving Ash) helps create a balanced party.
He is still a putz so its a good reason to kill him for that. Minor xenophobe vs putz, putz dies every time.

Pretty much why I always let Kaiden die - kept him alive in one play-through to find out how much of a simpering whelp he actually is, never again.

Why ME should be T rated????
I'm 34 years old, and definetly want a more mature game, something that fit my needs and reality.
Plus wars are not for kids or teens or no one sensitive.
People tend also to forget that all the devellopers in the world are adults, and they should make games they would love to play first. Plus there is too many games rated T nowdays, so much that sometimes i'm afraid to open any online stores.

Unfortunately reality disagrees with that:

Maybe "Wars are not for the feint of heart" would be a better term as I have met kids that are more mature than some adults I have met.
Plus in war age and innocence have no real place as history has shown that war cares not for any of these.

No, wars are not for kids. The fact that an oppressive regime or necessity put them in war doesn't change that.

It should be rated E, with cartoonish style, bigheaded characters, guns should shoot multicolored balls of ink, and exclusively for Nintendo WiiU.
Oh... Should have some guest chars like Mario, green Mario and that guy Zelda.
While we're at it, throw in some micro-transactions. Bam, instant pre-order!
