I've searched all around the sand dune its in, the cliffs to the north, everywhere I could think of, looking for a tunnel or a lever or something, but I can't seem to figure it out.

You can use something like a ground smash attack (Bull should have) or if I recall you jump on it a few times

I'd tried the jumping, but had not tried a ground smash attack. It worked. And the resulting greatsword is really nice! Thanks! :)

You can get through by jumping as well, but you have to be at a very specific location.

Huh. I had no idea that chest was even there. What's that landmark to the northwest?

'The Marker' landmark.

You never found it? There's a fairly good T2 greatsword down there.

You're supposed to jump on it (the middle section) until it breaks. Some of the companions even have remarks for when you fall.

Like most unique weapons in DAI, Verdict sucks like a Roomba. They are level restricted which means that by the time you can equip them you already have far better crafted items available.

"Are you hurt?" Ha!

I think it's fairly good considering you can open up the Oasis in the first act. If you go there early enough, you may not have access to any schematics or materials that would allow you to get a better greatsword at no cost (and you probably won't have access to runes yet, further increasing its utility).

Obviously, the longer it takes you to find it, the less useful it will be. But that's true of all treasure.

You can get it early yes, but you have to be level 8 before you can use it. By that time I always have a much better greatsword (level 2 schema from Fallow Mire with Paragon's Luster gives you around 250 DPS compared to under 200 with Verdict).

Nope, never found it before. I'm usually really thorough about exploration, so it's kinda surprising.

In general, I don't worry too much about utility when it comes to unique weapons. I use mostly crafted gear, so my interest in them is strictly RP. Now that we have the storage chest, I fill it up with all kinds of stuff, pretty much anything that has an actual item description. I figure the Inquisitor is a collector, preserving as many lore-heavy items as s/he can. And the Wedge of Destiny, Victim of Fashion, Mark's Mangled Mace, and Boon of the Spoon. I like goofy screen shots.

The Ardent Blossom helmet is likely the trickiest unique item to get.
