Sometimes when i'm alone I put all HoK on my weapon as well so that I can absorb all life in the universe with my rage ![]()
It's a huge jump when you have enough crit chance to cool down warhorn and rampage fast enough to drop devour for combat roll.
With top end gears the Reaver is almost unstoppable on Perilous. Still hard on Nightmare+ difficulty though, need tons of promotions to not go down instantly.
Heads up, reaver hasn't been hard to play since the buff. It is now one of the most powerful classes in the game
Go play assassin, alchemist and necromancer
Yeah three runs immortal in Perilous today,

With enough promotions , the Reaver on Nightmare it's THE Nightmare for the enemies .
Strongest char to quickly reach the dragon , archers are also powerful but you have to be careful when facing red templars , the Reaver don't.
Reavers been OP since day 1 yoou guys are nuts

agree
Reavers been OP since day 1 yoou guys are nuts
shhhhhhhhhh ![]()
As long as you have Rampage, upgraded War Horn and a high crit chance, you don't need any HoK on her.
No it was no op since day one, nonsense. You were still buzzard bait if you have limited hok and not a ton of promotions. Oh, waves 1 through 4? No problem, you waste everything because the enemy comes at you for the most part from one way, in a controlled pattern and there is cover. Get to an open area wave 5 with aggro shedding team mates and you are face planting quickly and wondering how you cleaned up on waves 1-4 but are now dead.
Tamar is the sexiest character in MP.

Agreed.
Tamar is the sexiest character in MP.
I'd add single player there as well to widen this statement to whole DAI. Some artist who did these animations and her gait did a really outstanding job. Voice is superb as well. It is subtle without drama but outstanding. There are some awkward animations of some ladies in SP and some of the movement animations in MP are not that smooth/fluid. Tamar though is perfect and I enjoy both playing her myself (rear view) or watching others playing her (front/side view).

Those grunts.

Reavers always been good if you know how to use her.
L2REAVER
She is not easy to start out with on MP though. You do need some promotes and she is pretty gear dependant. Did 2 play throughs of SP with the reaver and loved it! The reaver totally tears it up. Was the first class I unlocked when i started playing multiplayer and face planted every time I tried to take on groups like I did in SP.
She is not easy to start out with on MP though. You do need some promotes and she is pretty gear dependant.
I would strongly disagree with that and I've been playing for less than two weeks. She is gear dependent on Perilous or above, but I'm pretty sure she was the first non-starting class I played (got armor from a chest) and I fell in love with her instantly. Right now I'm at 6/2/5 promotes. That's 3 Archer promotes, 2 Assassin promotes, 2 Elementalist promotes...and I'll let you guess what makes up the 6 warrior promotes (hint: it's a single class).
Don't get me wrong, crafting better armor (which was the first thing I did after playing a few games with her) is extremely helpful...with the epic level 15 armor she's practically a goddess on Threatening or below because she basically takes no physical damage, can dish out a lot of constant damage, and *can self heal from level 1 with no items.*
That last part is why I would say she is one of the easiest classes to start with on MP -- you won't have any HoK or HoH items/upgrades/etc which means the only classes that can actually heal besides her are Elementalist/Necromancer. And they rely on something dying (they don't have to kill it but it has to die) which can be more problematic on boss fights if no adds are up (Dragon) or all adds are dead before the main boss (normal wave 5 fight in some cases). Reaver can use Devour and Rampage to keep herself up indefinitely if she doesn't get overwhelmed.
Yes, other warriors/mages can generate Guard/Barrier in some manner but they cannot undo permanent health damage constantly as a new player.
The key thing is what I said two sentences ago: "if she doesn't get overwhelmed." The Reaver is not a tank and she cannot allow the incoming damage to exceed what she's capable of healing or she'll fall over. She's not the Legionnaire who doesn't care if all three faction bosses and 50 archers are attacking him. You have to play the Reaver intelligently, minimize what you're fighting at any given time.
Oh, and you also need to actually use the right skills. You can literally play the Reaver at like 80% of her effectiveness with just normal Devour and upgraded Dragon Rage (don't get me wrong, Rampage/War Horn/Combat Roll are all amazing but you don't need them to play pretty well on Routine/Perilous).
She didn't always have a heal on hit passive. So using rage would always drop your health pool. A month ago you almost never saw reavers running around. Since she got the huge buff, She is amazing. And routine isn't ran that much anymore. I do 1 game on threatening at lvl 1 to get a few skills going and its nothing but perilous/NM after that. Before the armor/guard buffs and the reavers natural heal on hit you couldn't do that with her. But these days I am talking about were before your time in the game.
She didn't always have a heal on hit passive.
Where did I mention it? As far as I can tell it doesn't work with Dragon Rage, just normal melee swings. It's possible the effect for Dragon Rage is so small I just can't even see it, but spamming Dragon Rage on an enemy just seems to drop my health.
And routine isn't ran that much anymore.
You would be wrong. Particularly for new players...which is what your statement explicitly referred to no less.
I do 1 game on threatening at lvl 1 to get a few skills going and its nothing but perilous/NM after that.
Yeah...how does this statement even correlate to "She is not easy to start out with on MP though." I got into multiplayer after three friends convinced me to give it a shot and they were struggling on Routine initially. I had to drag them into Threatening at high level and convince them it wouldn't be so bad (you would be surprised how hard Routine can be for new players with really bad PUGs in the group).
But these days I am talking about were before your time in the game.
So how is that relevant to this thread? It's not like you said "She used to be hard to start out with on MP until the recent buffs."
I don't want to have an argument over this. The first two lines of my post used words like "didn't always" and "a month ago". The statement that she didnt always have the passive ability to heal is important to this post because THAT change is what has made her such a beast. Instead of spending her time in the fade. almost everything I have said bad about her were in the past tense. And THAT is where the statement "these days were before your time in the game" comes from.
