What are the odds Andromeda will have a collectible card game or something?

LIKE WOAH!!!!! Not saying they should or shouldn't do it but I tried divining the future of the Mass Effect series with a bowl of chicken noodle soup and this is what it told me. Not saying that it will definitely happen as bowls of chicken noodle soup are known to be compulsive liars but there is usually a 50 percent chance it is telling the truth.

Seems collectible card games are all the rage now and with everyone going on about how brilliant a certain game is and how brilliant it was that they decided to include a collectible card game in the mix it makes you wonder if certain game developers have taken not and are thinking "hey that looks like a pretty cheap and easy thing to replicate".

We all know "innovation" in the triple AAA series consists mostly of looking at the things that the other guys did that were well received and if it is easy enough to replicate do it, for instance Mass Effect had a dialogue wheel now most AAA RPG have dialogue wheel, Skyrim had an open world now everyone is doing open world, He who shall not be named had a successful minigame now other games must have successful minigames?

Now I can see the arguments for this in Mass Effect Andromeda, while not only giving the player a fun minigame to play it can also be used to expand on the culture of whatever race it is attributed to. It also gives you an excuse to sell overpriced DLC booster packs and new cards and units people will buy because they are ****** morons who don't understand the value of the dollar! But that said if you do decide to do the whole minigame thing don't do cards, everyone is doing cards it is like soooooooo early half of 2015, do tabletop miniatures instead!

That certain CCG in the mystery game you're referring to isn't as much fun as dice poker was.

This.

Also Jesus Christ why would want them to chase a trend like this?

Based on their post history, I don't think it's a serious thread.

Never said I wanted them to do it, just speculating on the probability of it happening whether I want it to happen or not.

No, thanks. I'd rather collect bobbleheads and play poker with the crew than have a rehash of Gwent.

I'm down with some sort of mini-game, but I'll pass on collectibles.  It isn't for me. <shrug>

Final Fantasy did card games before it was cool. I spent many hours with it as a teenager in FF8+9. Also, blitzball.

Mini-games rock. But Bioware has never been one to waste resources... where it would be cool...

So you want card games and collectibles but god help Bioware if they combine the 2 into one activity? Seems like you are looking for something to protest here but not sure what it is, does the inclusion of an activity that even vaguely resembles an activity from that game that shall not be named trigger your PTSD or something?

I think that was a protest against Deckbuilding, which is a valid point. Since having the collectables separate from the minigame allows people to be "good" at the game, without having to find the right cards first.
I personally probably wouldnt play the minigame, but will go for the collectables, since thats more my style (minigames break the immersion a bit, imo)

If we're going to request a card game let's at least have the class to request Triple Triad.

Something like relay defense/space chess, something like warcraft 3 but not so complex (with the story, for resources of bioware and space in the game).

The one who shall not be named perhaps is wild hunt?
