Please remove the petition and make this a 'suggestion thread' - Petitions get ignored and locked pretty quick here, but the meat and potatoes of the OP has some stuff worth considering.
Like the Helmet toggle.

A lot of players tend to choose cool badass appearance in games over equipment stats. Personally I prefer my team to look good instead of having +x% to something. I'm glad there's detailed customisation in ME2.SonOfSaren wrote...
And the armour, it's a little cool to be able to change the style and color but it's ultimately pointless. The drinking through the helmet is just silly.

But only for Shepard, which kind of sucks because I was really looking forward to equipping my squadmates with my bonus preorder armor. That would have been awesome to see three enigmatic-looking mercenaries showing up on the battlefield.

I had to actually start from an earlier save because I missed out on all the facial reactions during an important cutscene. I assumed the game would automatically take my helmet off for dialog. All that time spent animating facial expressions and trying to convey emotion, just to have it covered up with a helmet. It is really disappointing. Please put the helmet toggle back into the game.

i agree on all points 1 to 3 and would like to suggest a 4th point
4. please allow the splitting of the sprint /use /duck to cover function and allow weapon shortcut mapping with keys like F1 to F4 at least for the chars main weapons for PCs ... the fact that xbox hasnt a lot of buttons shouldnt IMO restrict the PC multi key capability...
thank you for a great game to all developpers
Yes, PLEASE!
Also, can I put in a vote for the old map system? I liked being able to pull up the map and see where I am. Why can I do that in some places and not others. I see it as a needless frustration. Or was there a reason it was changed?

I also agree with being able to separate the multi-use key. Case in point, I was using it to sprint around the Normandy, the storm period ran out, I pressed the key again, and viola, I'm talking to Kelly instead. I'd also like to add mapping for Journal, Codex and Squad menu's, and proper use of the Enter key/double clicking. Pretty much just the general de-consoleization of the PC UI.

I am starting a polite, non-flaming petition thread to address what I consider to be the three weak links in ME2. This is NOT a complaint thread, nor a FLAME thread. This is purely a gentle request thread.
1: Add a delete utility to the ME1 import. As the series progresses, having multiple endgame files from various playthroughs of each game has the potentail to become very confusing and muddled. This will especialy become true when the entire trilogy is released. Having 10+ ME1 imports along with 10+ ME2 imports could be a nightmare in keeping track of importing one character through the whole series. By allowing players to delete these files, it would make it easier to manage which character goes through the whole trilogy.
2. Return the helmet toggle feature. While the custom armors and new helmets are impressive looking, they do present issues. The full-head helmets can be immersion-breaking and annoying during conversations, especialy with characters that are supposed to recognize or comment on your face. Additionaly, when ordering drinks from bars, Shepard will magicaly drink straight through the helmet. (SCIENCE, LOL!) Unfortunately, the only solution now is to not equip a helmet, and sacrifice an armor boost. Returning the helmet toggle would be the easiest, simplest solution.
3. Allow the updgraded mineral scanner to move at full speed. Having the initial mineral scanner move slowly makes sense: the ship is new and not upgraded, it takes effort to get her up to full power. However, the improved mineral scanner doesn't really seem worth the mineral cost. The problem with the scanner isn't in how sensitive it is, it's the speed. Rewarding the player for putting effort into upgrading their ship by allowing the scanning mini-game to be easier seems like a logical step. The player has a control stick, allow them to manipulate the speed by the angle of the stick. Another easy, simple, solution, that makes sense within the game world.
If you agree with these changes,POLITELY SIGN. NO FLAMING.
OP I admire you for this effort. You were brave to make a "nice" complaint thread. Kudos to you, and I can almost gaurantee you will be heard if not responded to. good stuff.

heres my two cents, make the Dr Pepper items available as dlc. for those of us who dont live in canada or the US.
I totally agree with this. Fans in any part of the world should have access to ALL DLC. While I am in the U.S., so many times I see exclusive items for UK and Asia, so its a real bummer. Fans unite.
A minor patch I'd like to see. Show us how many points in our current Level we are. If I need 1000 points to the next level, let me see my actual point count!!!
Kudos to the thread starter! Excellent thread and I love the attitude behind it.

Not going to happen. Already been stated by the devs, plus I think Epic has stated that no mod kit will ever be made available for licensed UE3 games.pimabread wrote...
some sort of mod toolset kind of like dragon age's would be awesome even though I doubt they'd ever release something like that for this game but hey its worth suggesting also more side quests

A lot of people have expressed their dislike of the new planet scanning system. My main complaint about the way they handled scanning wasn't the mini-game itself, it was the missed opportunity.
With planet scanning, only the planets where EDI detects an anomaly will have ground missions and those you get an obvious sound cue for. The rest, all they're there for is resources and collecting them is a tedious process no different than the tedium of Mako exploration. There's no middle ground that adds to the lore and feeling of an expansive universe. Even while driving the mako you ran across story bits, this doesn't happen with ME2.
I would have loved to see them put in a lot more special scan results that aren't ground missions like in ME1.
Just small and simple text blocks and highlight some interesting little discovery or event. I call them mini-anomalies. These would take very little developer resources to do since they're just text, and provide more player reward and add a lot more scope to the ME world. I am aware that each block of text would need to undergo the usual approval process, they're small, concise, and easily kept track of for the developer. They could also grant a bit of resources as well, maybe even forming the foundation for some little collection quests.
These mini-anomalies wouldn't be as easy to find as obvious as N7 missions, they wouldn't have an obvious line pointing to them. However, while scanning for resources if you get anywhere near one (say about 2-5 grid lines) you might get a different signal, prompting the player to look around for it. This signal would be universal, requiring no extra expensive audio recording.
These mini-anomalies could involve classic ME1 carry overs and new stuff like simple crashed probes, debris, ruins, collection quests, etc. They could be seeded 1-3 per system to keep the number low and manageable, just like ME1.
This would have then made resource collection, and scanning every planet, rewarding in some way. It's a good middle ground between the blatantly obvious anomalies, and the tedium of playing Mining Surveyor 2150.

The Mineral scanning thing being slow must be an Xbox issue because once I got the upgraded Mineral scanner on my PC, that targetter moves as fast as I can move my mouse.
It is essentially an xbox issue, I have played both. I've just learned to adapt by scanning letting go then pressing it again looking for small spikes.
It's not game breaking but it is a little arduous.

It was really funny to have... that one particular person telling me they didn't shoot at my head because they knew who I was... HOW was that supposed to work again? I'm covered, head to toe, with members in my team this person has presumably never met. Magic!
