[Bioware] Abilities from SP unseen in MP. Any explanations?

Are there any reasons why the following couldn't be/wasn't done?

 

- Add Revival to Keeper,

  • but make it impossible to spec for any CC ability (SC/DF) if specced with Revival by extending the right tree
  • reduce upgrade duration to 3s
  • nerf damage on undead/affected enemies

- Add Wall of Ice to Necro (implement no-clip for party members, increase the cooldown?)

- Add Resurgence to ...? (nerf healing to 2%/s for 10s)

- Add Thousand Cuts to a DPS-oriented rogue character? (12 hits for 150% / hit)

- Add Cloak of Shadows to Hunter (yes, seriously, would be awesome!)

- Add Rally to ...?

 

I'm aware that Hail of Arrows is very buggy, and will assume for now that Flask of Lightning/Haste can't function correctly in a MP environment

The haste ones (Lightning Flask and haste) were tech decisions - the way it works is it slows down 'time' for specific players or environment levels and then when it ends it slightly speeds it back up over the next second or so to compensate until you're synched back up. As you can imagine 4 players simultaneously altering their time poses some problems.

 

Ice Wall was simply due to people purposely blocking teammates in doorways, corners, anywhere really. Line in the sand is a visual effect that adds path blocking whereas icewall actually spawns physical objects (that's why you can hack away at them).

 

The focus abilities were added really late and had to be altered from their SP forms, some of which (fire storm for example) were rather drastic so it was decided to use less of them - plus they have no upgrades which always irked me.

 

And revive/heal were counter to what the aim was at the beginning of multiplayer. This was somewhat circumvented due to the prevalence of HoK equipment but that's another story :)

 

I'd like to put Rally or Cloak of Shadows on something in the future but we'll see how that goes... :bandit:

With respect to Haste, would it have not been possible to simply have all enemies within a certain radius be slowed for a significant amount (~50%) for a set duration? I know technically you're slowing enemies, but to them...you get where I'm going with this.  <_<

 

A really big version of disruption field? :)
