Is it justified that I think Fire Wraith fire damage is too strong on Perilous?

I'm not sure if the tick is just too frequent, or the damage is high, but it seems like it's quite unfair for an enemy as weak and numerous as Fire Wraiths to be able to take away so much health from a player; assuming they have relatively low magic defense via promotions. This doesn't even take into account the stacking damage.

 

I'd even go as far to say that the Despair demons ice beam of doom is OP. I understand Perilous and above are meant to be challenging, but there's just something cheap about an enemy that can make you guzzle a health potion in the first Zone.

That said, I do wonder how much of this is due to the armor buffs that apparently happened -- the deadliest attacks in Perilous seem to generally be attacks that ignore armor (Wraiths, Despair Demons, Arcane Horrors, etc).

Indeed. I shrug off bow attacks like its nothing, but I get hit by a wraith or horror attack and my health/guard just melts away.

one thing you can do is level your warriors and gain more health, or promote will power and up your resist

On characters unable to generate guard/barrier, it's awful.  They can execute you with two blasts whilst not even being on radar... X(

Except for those Fire Wraiths, did you ever wanted to chug a Fire Resist potion?

Really?... What about the Venatori Commander and the Fire Dragon? I mean... c'mon...it's called Fire Dragon <.< Why would you not think about drinking a potion to raise the resistance against fire <.<

 

On-Topic...In my lifetime of playing DAMP I got 2-3 times killed by a Fire Wraith with the help of its fire debuff...and that was in my beginnings...I find it more horrible how a Fire/Lightning Dragon can **** you over. Especially Lightning Dragon killed me multiple times from above, while screaming "surprise ******".

I don't believe fire wraiths or the elemental itself is too strong, it's fire so you should be in searing pain.....

I don't mind dying to the occasional fire DoT.  I do mind, however, my Katari screaming like a little girl every time he gets hit by it.  It's...discomforting.

Fire Wraiths only feel strong because of that weird all dot damage suddenly comes at once thing that happens every now and then. 

 

Personally yeah I think they should be toned down a bit (Or someone work magic and fix the dot damage coming all at once thing so we can react to the fire dot), but as players we're all biased in wanting nerfs to enemies eh?

-Fire Mine

 

-Electric Mine

 

-Storm Dragon special attack

 

-Fire/electric slide by the white Venatori mages

 

 

it is supposed to be deadly, especially against rogues without a barrier spammer present

 

Gives you a reason to up your willpower

And that's why Isabela is the best rogue. Sometimes as a duelist I even troll a fallen archer by reviving him directly in the dragon fire pool.

Fire wraiths are pretty badass in single player, too.

 

You can dispel them and they go back to green, by the way.

I think a good solution would be to add a 3rd upgrade slot on the highest tier armors and make elemental resist upgrades available to all characters, not just mages as it is now. Making new upgrades available to all classes would add a small new layer of customization and new items to hunt for. I'd love to have +16 cunning on my reaver or 14% sunder on gettin hit for my Lego.

Five damage ticks per second, ticking for three seconds is totally working as intended. At least the Mages and Spellbinders on NM have upped their game as well and now randomly hit you for quintruple damage with their elemental attacks.

 

I think it's karma for the incendiary glitch in ME3.

That's something that irks me to no end. Most armor upgrades would be more useful on another class.

A mage don't really need Magic Resist, it already have a high Magic Resist to begin with. I'd like Melee Resist because I run around a lot.

A Warrior don't really need Melee Resist, Guard and Armor already takes care of that. I'd like Magic Resist and Fire/Cold/Lightning Resist because that's what kills me...

Why is there a class on those armor upgrades? Why limit your builds?
