Obviously you just bought your game for the wrong system. :P

+1 Lol :)

What amazes me the most (and sorry to bash here)...is that its common knowledge how junk the 360 is, always going wrong, scratches discs....and everyone knows this...but they still buy them?

I mean wow....can you people buy my product please...you must be the most loyal people in world :)

You're not sorry, at all. Surely, to be sorry, would mean to suggest that you are regretful, and would rectify the instance if given the chance? What you're truly sorry for is the potential dent to your ego, if by chance it be attacked as a result of your comment.

You've gone so far beyond the point of hypocrisy that it's sickeningly disappointing.

Why bash your fellow gamer, honestly?

I wish Mass Effect wasn't an XBox exclusive, it's the only game I play that isn't on the PlayStation 3. Of the two platforms, I much prefer the PS3. Just a personal preference, the quality issues with the XBox 360 hardware are just inexcusable in my opinion.

To the OP, My xbox is one of the first batch, which had something like a 30% chance of RROD in the first year. It's been repaired twice. However since I got a Cooler Fan it's been absoultely fine. I'd reccomend getting one!

That's bad luck :( - Happens to most of us I guess but a real bad time for that to happen. Hope you get back in the game soon.

First off its !=

Secondly ME2 on PC is better but rabid fanboyism is something that just disgusts me in any form.

The PS3 has the same sort of issues with dying in just a few months, and their costumer service isn't as good as Microsoft's.

Unless he meant =\\= of course, aaaah.

I have nothing relevant to say... Umm.... PC is good, but since my desktop is halfway fossilised I have to use my laptop which... gets a little warm. I think the major issue is keeping the thing cool whether it's a pc or a console.. maybe? I dunno...

I hope the OP's console starts behaving soon, I'd hate to have my lappy die on me when ME2 arrives :(

Go look at the PC technical forums. If you think there aren't tons of people with PC issues also, you're sadly mistaken.

I'm reminded of a South Park episode.  Maybe you've seen it?  It's the one where Mr. Garrison invents a new type of vehicle to compete with the airlines.  For whatever reason, the vehicle shoves a large metal rod into the drivers anus.  They still end up selling like crazy just because it's such a headache to deal with the airlines.

Why does a lot of PC gamers have this superiority complex about them? I play PC games and consoles as well. However, Its aggravating and flat out dumb to think your superior. Just because you spent 5,000-10,000 dollars on a PC doesn't make you better! in fact its kind of silly. A XBOX 360 cost 199.99-299.99, PS3 costs 299.99, a decent PC 600-700 dollars. And in the end you end up with the same deal. So who's the fool? Besides the nice thing about consoles is that you don't have to install drivers, install the game and have to put in key codes. You never have to worry about a game not installing properly or worrying if your GPU/sound card is good enough etc. You have the satisfaction of knowing that no matter what game you buy it will always work and you never have to install it etc. you just put in the game and it plays!

Eh what?

The current machine I'm playing on cost me $380(470 if you count the videocard from my previous machine) and should last me around 2-3 years in the way of current gen gaming.  Yes I built it myself too, difficult stuff(note the sarcasm).

The reason I use an xbox 360 for a majority of my gaming (Except PC exclusives) Is I enjoy completion via achievements, it adds a new reason to replay the game for me, also I am not the wealthiest of people so it is a nice, fairly cheap gaming console and I have a tonne of games for it anyway so I don't want to leave them all to rot. As for my xbox, mine died of RRoD about 3 weeks ago, but my friend is letting me borrow his on friday so I can atleast play ME2 on official UK release.

I got rrod yesterday after popping in the bonus ME2 collectors disc (while signing up for cerberus network which tells you to restart the console.) Restarted and bam, rrod. Luckily, that elite was a birthday present (August 09 Onward with the warranty woot!) from someone who didn't think I already had a 360. Grandma. So I moved the hd and all is well. Oh and not to say the bonus disc was the cause. Unlucky.

By the way, on my less than a year warranty, when I did the repair thing through xbox.com it said my consoles warranty was expired! I was highly upset because I couldn't get an agent through the phone for quite some time. Even though I could hardly understand the guy he was nice about it.

I had the disc reading problem when I got MW2 and just ignored it, then three weeks ago I thought I'd send it in since its still under warranty and I'd have it back in time for some uninterrupted ME2 action. It's still not back!!!!! I'm in NZ so another 24 hours 'till I get my pre order AND I have the day off work especially, looks like I'll have to rent an xbox for the day. At least Ive got some old saves on my MU

Don't know where you purchase your PC , but i always pay under $1000 (US) for top of the line(or close to it) custom PC.It still comes up to double the price of console, but what i get is far more better, useful and , gasp.., i can actually use it as the educational tool for my kids , god forbid.(although they both have their own quad cores and zero consoles)

Either way this game does not need top notch PC, just well maintained average one. And those can be purchased for same price as some console nowdays.

As for OP, sorry to hear that you invested money and effort and now you can't enjoyed it.

i remember my boss telling me about this trick to "fixing" his old xbox that went sour on him... he found it on youtube... something like "360 towel trick" i think. he figured what the hell ill try it... the machine is already toast so it cant hurt anything.

basically you power up the console with no hard drive or a/v cables plugged in and wrap it up in a towel and let it sit for an hour i think... unwrap and power down for a bit till it cools and then boot it back up.

he did this several months ago and i havent heard him mention buying a new one yet for his kids
