I want no known characters from the original trilogy.  Even if lets say they take an Ark through a convenient wormhole, and there's *time dilation* to make it long after the events of ME3, I still don't want know characters.

New galaxy, new people.

An honorable mention of previously known characters would be in place as a nod to ME1-3, but that's it.

I also agree it's time to start afresh, new people, new enemies, new part of the universe.

I believe in BioWare and I hope this time we will get characters so rich in hues, that even Mordin will look pale in comparison.

It's my guess, at any rate.  It can't have been post-ME3, because the ending would be too variable and they'd have to account for it.  And, they are wanting to leave Shepard and knowledge thereof out of the story.

Chances are that the Andromeda mission was sent out while Shepard was imprisoned.  It's unlikely that it was sent out mid-ME3, when we hear from Garrus's father and sister.

Did I miss a press release?

Solana Vakarian sounds like a cleaning agent or a sci-fi stripper name, either way i fully support clean floors and sci-fi strippers

I think a better course is to homogenize the endings rather than abandon them and the rest of the MEU. It's surprisingly easy to do, especially since we'll be in a different galaxy so most of the differences won't even show up.

You mean aside from that whole half-robot thing? And what about the Krogan, Geth and Quarians?

It doesn't make any sense to launch an ark after ME3.

No, I want Liara for the next ME trilogy as the main LI.

Not true. There are ways it can take place after the endings without canonizing an ending.

What do you mean by "considering what it means if they can"?

Ways like how to encompass all possible 8 endings?

Where is there any common sense or reason to go to Andromeda after the trilogy ending?

In order for any cameos to happen it has to be within the life span of the person and they would need to have some plausible way to get to Andromeda. This would most likely require no mention of them in the 3rd after the Arks departure.

Garrus fans made me really tired of him. So no, I don't want his sister.

Knowing that we'll contrive a way to Andromeda somehow, and that wormholes and/or cryo tubes could be involved, I'd say it's plausible that the Ark passengers could get to their destination within a lifetime. Whether we should use this to include someone involved in ME1-3 is another question.

If we get a brand new female turian companion, people will probably label her as 'Not-Garrus'. As his - seemingly different, based on what little we know - sister, Solana's character could actually build upon fan comparisons between our new turian companion and the last.

The life expectancy of a human in the mass effect universe is 150 years in ME1, with the potential to expand even more with future medical developments. Miranda tells Shepard in ME2 that her life expentancy is doubled thanks to its genetic "improvements" (with means 300 years).

Bioware didn't say how far in the future ME:A will play, but there are many opportunities in a SiFi setting to explain unexpected camoeo appearances. However it would be odd and forced if too many individuals with connections to known Characters from ME1-3 will appear in ME:A.

@Gramorla

And Javik is over 50 000 years old... But he spend most of that in cryo. Cryo does wonders when it commes to making Life expectancies irrelevant due to the progression of time over a few millenia. Lets say they spent a lot of tiem goign from the Milkyway to Andromeda, in Cryo. then it will be far into the future, but they won't have aged.

I wouldn't mind a female turian companion but that would probably mean that there would not be a male turian companion/LI and that would not be okay. Garrus was my Sheps LI and I'd be extremely disappointed if ME:A came without a male turian LI. Turians are very popular, so hopefully BW will find a way to give us both.

Why not have both?

I mean, nothing big stops them from introducing both male and female turian LI option in ME:A.

Exactly, let us have both. I mean, we are talking about most interesting race in ME universe, after all (in my opinion). :)

I've always considered Turians to be Mankind's "older sibling race".

Two Turin LI would be to much. They have other species to fill for LI as well so I doubt it would be feasible.

And this time around it's time to make the Turin female.

I would rather have a Batarian than a second Turian on the squad. Have as many different races on the squad as possible. There's no reason to double-dip or to keep going back to the same well.

I'd rather any female Turian characters were new, and had no relation to Garrus.

1. she's a refugee that leave the turian homeworld late during the game.

2. She has a serious Health condition that's hard to fix and expensive to medicate.

3. None of which makes her a good pick for going to Another Galaxy with lacking infrastructure and resources.

It's Garrus' mom who's suffering from the condition. Not Solana.

Quarians fit the description better, TBH.

I don't personally want any companions that are in any way connected to previous characters. It would feel like they are riding on the success of those characters that came before them, and wouldn't allow those characters to properly shine, sitting in their shadow. Give me a bunch of new and exciting characters, that aren't simply there to have us feel connected to those we grew to love.
