I think almost everyone despises the Skyhold pajamas. I hope we can get more looks as well as more things to use our personal quarters for in the same DLC.

I do admire some of the NPC outfits but I wouldn't say I personally feel like I lack options for what to wear (especially once you have tons of Dales Loden Wool, Snoufleur Skin and Silverite). Which outfits in particular are you after?

So they can sell it as DLC later OOOOOOOOOOOO

okay okay sorry

Yes, I agree that I found it really frustrating that our character is pretty much forced to use a specific set of armor from one point on while there is just so much variety in what the NPCs wear. I would have liked some more mage robe gear for my female human mage, maybe those cool fereldan outfits with fur on them I saw NPCs wear...

There's so many NPC armors that I like. I'm not even talking about companions. Lysette for example.

What gets me the most is that half of those outfits were available in DAO and DA2, but somehow they are NPC specific in DAI...

I could grumble more, but I'll spare everyone.

I just loathe whatever they've done to armor design across the board. Sure, DAO suffered a bit from Warhammer-esque giant pauldrons, but I loved most of the armor designs. Even the "common" ones like the Medium/Heavy Dwarven Armor looked really nice, especially depending on the armor materials.

DAI just makes me cringe, except in some rare respects. The Warden armors I like, but they're basically holdovers from DA2/Legacy. There's too little armor and too much of everything else. And too much blasted beige.

The Inquisition debut cutscene always cracks me up. Everyone else is wearing this more-or-less uniform armor across the board, whereas you, the Herald of Andraste, are stuck in this beige, padded thing. It gets worse when most of your armors will be variations on said thing, especially if you're not human. The Qunari really, really, really got screwed here.

You have 4 different races and 2 genders, so you'd need to make each NPC armour fit 8 different body types for the Inquisitor. It's not just a case of throwing these pieces of armour into a shop to make them available to wear. You also need to take into consideration tinting and making sure the armour fits the companions, some of whom have unique body types.

Much agreed. I hope they consider releasing future armor packs. Like, it would have been nice to have them in the base game, but at this point I'd rather just have the option to get new looks.

I'd love to see a Val Royeaux inspired armor set. Full long skirts might be asking a bit much, but we see NPCs with looks that avoid them and still manage to be elegant. Vivienne's apparel is, for the most part, fantastic. She even offers to go shopping with the Inquisitor! And...nothing  and while I don't think I'd ever wear Josephine's ruffles, the knee length skirt thing she has going on seems like it could be utilized in other armor designs.

As for the beige jammies, the poor qunari...it's like the camera frame cuts out their faces and zooms right in on the striped crotch  who okayed striping the pants?? If the costume was just straight black, at least it wouldn't be so obvious...

I love the Inquisitor's armour, particularly the heavy stuff (but then I'm no fan of the late-medieval inspired full plate that most fantasy RPGs, including previous DA games, fill out the heavy armour slots with)....but I will agree there is a crippling lack of variety.

I'm kind of disappointed at how uncharacteristic the Inquisitor's armor is, except for the helmet. After Hawke's Champion outfit, I thought the Inquisitor would also have a look that makes it kind of like a signature.

I agree, OP, NPCs have much more interesting outfits that cements each character's unique look.

You don't think the open longcoat or the coat with the waist tail is iconic? No one else has equipment like that, so it seems that is signature. It is true that the "mail" versions of armor look a bit typical though.

Well, you do have a point. None of the companions have those features, but I guess what I wanted out of it was more use of symbols, I guess? Cassandra had the eye, Blackwall had the griffins. The Inquisitor outfits were trying to be too general, in my opinion. I would have liked more of those Inquisition symbols on all of the schematics, not just on the coat you find in higher level areas. The design looks sturdy, but it just looked bland to me compared to Hawke's, which had more flair.

This is why I wish I played on PC, modders do better work. Just look at this. It even look as though they fix the male elf arms with this attire.

I'm glad someone else noticed the lack of actual armour. You know, like metal? Why is there so little in DA:I?! And the warden armour is almost the only type I like, and like you said it's not new. And with all the hideous-to-subpar armour from DLC, I think it's clear Bioware no longer has any sense of style, taste, or aesthetics anymore. They can't make good hair, casual outfits, or armour, and it makes me a very sad and somewhat angry Banshee.

Also, if you want me to actually pay money for outfits, make them look good enough to buy...

Ugh. I despise the Inquisitor's longcoat designs, as well as the rogue armour designs. That may be partly because I prefer metal armour, but I just don't like the look, shape or texture of the longoat, and especially hate the weirdly angled chest portion of it. Oh, and I also hate the single metal chest-plate on the rogue armours that angles up. Not only does it look weird, but it would deflect attacks into your face. Iron Bull even points this out when talking about how Cullen angles his shield down to avoid attacks.

And yes, I would have preferred if the Inquisitor-specific armour actually had Inquisition emblems on it. I mean, I'm the Inquisitor!

Sorry for the rant, but I needed to get that out of my system.

I loved the DA2 DLC stuff. Granted, you had a couple of rehashes - like one just being the Legion of the Dead armor - but there was some neat stuff too. Malcolm's Bequest and the Golden Prince's Raiment are some of my favorites in the whole series.
