What magic tree is best suited for a very aggressive KE.  Would like to do a lot of combat accented with very damaging spells.  Which tree (s) do you suggest.  I was thinking just a little winter, for mana regen.  and lighting (there isn't a lot of immunity to lighting).  Any suggestions?

Also thanks to all for the Rift Mage advice and info here.  Just finished and it was a great!

Don't take winter for mana regen. It only helps if you stand still. And many spells cancel it out anyway. Do take fade step though.

Be sure to pick up fire passives that convert barrier into more fire damage. Spirit blade, fade cloak, fire mine, and energy barrage. Use frost step to get in close.

Mana regen passive in spirit tree with mana regen passive in KE tree should provide plenty mana

Think most KE builds work around something using the first 4 skills in the bar the rest is just personal preference

Knight Enchanters usually go into the Inferno tree because they have great synergy with it's Clean Burn and Chaotic Focus passives. After that it depends on what you want the Inquisitor or Vivienne to do.

Just a tip.  There is a passive in the spirit tree (far bottom right) that increases your barrier strength.  However, chaotic focus works by reducing your total barrier by half (or something like that).  The spirit passive will actually make it harder to do damage because you have to work harder to get your barrier up.  You'll do more damage without the spirit passive for increased barrier strength.

However, if you don't have chaotic focus it doesn't really matter.
