Shabby Hyena Real Estate brings you this Great New Deal!

Yes, this wonderful new residence with a very desirable ocean view can be yours for just five chests of gold!

Wreck1.jpg

With convenient beach access - those aren't sharks, they're just, er, rocks - and a much sought-after "olde worlde" look, this excellent property is a real bargain!

You just can't afford to miss this once in a lifetime chance to become the proud owner of a home with real character.

It must have real character because it reeks of fish and maritime silt.

Wreck2.jpg

This desirable seaside property comes with ample cellar storage - well, we say cellar, more just piles of rubbish in the gaping space underneath it - and has ladder access to its characterful raised door of mouldy old sailcloth. Guaranteed to be propped up on enough old timbers (probably) to stop it falling over in bad weather like it used to.

Complete with all the latest conveniences and fittings of a de luxe residence - such as a bent tin chimney and a window made of glass we'll assume was a cargo that somehow miraculously survived the wreck better than the ship itself.

Yes, be the envy of your neighbours on the next island a hundred miles away. It's a cut above the ordinary hovel!

Wreck3.jpg

Buyer may experience some minor damp problems when the tide comes in.

Shem - NW Armory automatically alters clothing parts for other phenos... Does it work on robes? I can't remember. I don't think I ever tried it on robes, but it might be worth testing.

@PHOD - No; Unfortunatelly NWarmory don't works with robes....

Old diving suit as role model. Availiable for all races and sexes, normal phenotype only. I want to thank Estelindis, OldTimeRadio, Proleric and Mecheon, who have helped me to solve my doubts with robes.

Diving_suit_robe_females.jpg

Diving_suit_robe_males.jpg

I have to make it without the helmet, because robes aparently have to show allways a least the head. The robe shows the head and the neck of the chararacter. The helmet is a helmet model and the oxygen tanks are a neck model.

As I've been building this fishing system, I've been mourning the fact that there are no good water VFX (unless I've missed something on the Vault, in which place, please correct me!). This makes it difficult to make a convincing splash animation. Is anyone up the the task of creating some water VFX? While splashes are what I'd like most, I'm sure other people would have plenty of uses for ripples, waves, eddies, etc.

I would gladly use them! My rivers need those animations, and I don't have the time currently to make all I need. <-- me begging

Hoping to submit this some fish inventory icons:

KC%20Fish.png

With special thanks to henesua and Squatting Monk who helped find them and test them - something I have difficulty doing myself atm, since my move to a new comp very recently.

I have some more sea-related stuff, such as shells & seaweed. I will try to find them before the end of the month, but can;t be sure of anything right now.

Ages ago, I did a couple of "sailing ship at sea in storm" loadscreens for Demoness Tales, plus a sort of "big empty expanse of water" loadscreen. I'll staple them to the side of the Nautilus if they'll be of any use to anyone.

Are these any use?

Note - the above are all jpeg versions of the actual loadscreens (done for size) and as such will not work in NwN.

If they were the right size, those would be great wallpapers.

I don't know. I go to all the trouble of getting really big pictures so that they have enough detail when shrunk and still somebody is not satisfied  ;)

Tseramed's Fishing System uses a ripple effect, although I've never tested it myself.  http://neverwinterva...y-configuration

Zwerkules made one the FP shares with a moon and sun effect.  http://neverwinterva...oon-and-ripples

In keeping with the open seas and rivers theme ... lets not forgot the placeable waves.  http://neverwinterva...set/shore-waves

MORE SHARKS!

Yes, if there's one kind of animal PHoD is even more fixated with than Hyenas, it's Sharks...

I was planning to do twenty new species of Shark this month but I've been caught up in other projects and so, pathetically, have actually only finished four of them. Several others, including the GIGANTIC Carcharodon Megalodon are part done but they're not going to make it to completion this month...

I didn't want to just retexture the existing Sharks and pretend lamely that they were different types, so I've forced myself to hit the filthy skinmeshes with bricks - nasty, tacky, adhesive stuff skinmesh, sticks to itself if you let it. So, although they're not completely accurate, at least the Blue Shark has its distinctive long pectoral fins and the Thresher has its ludicrous tail...

PHoDsharks1.jpg

Despite the great heap of unfinished species still lurking in gmax, hopefully these four will provide some extra variety to ocean Areas where Sharks are to be found.

Whilst doing the textures for these, I ensured they had FIVE gill slits instead of the perplexing FOUR on NWN Sharks... which is odd, because they SHOULD have five, like almost every species of shark. It's been annoying me for some time, but I'm just being icthyologically pedantic now so just ignore me and look at the nice Sharks...

Speaking of sharks and gills, everyone loves Hexanchus

Incidently I have a plan coming along as soon as I glue these crab claws onto some uncooperative Beholders...

Thanks for the links! TS's system (like most of the others I've examined) uses the silence VFX. It looks approximately right, but it plays a weird growling sound effect. I'll check out the others, though.

Under control? I don't think so!

YET STILL EVEN MORE SHARKS!

Managed to finish two more - the Great White and Tiger Sharks...

But those are already available, right? Right, but they're TOO DAMN SMALL! And the textures weren't exactly inspiring either. And the Great White had a curious blob on its underside between its pectoral fins for no appreciable reason...

So now there are new PHoD versions which are nice and BIG!

PHoDsharks3.jpg

Apart from a few tweaks and new textures, these Great White and Tiger Sharks are now BIG, just in case I hadn't mentioned it.You can thus now point at the Great White and, ensuring you sound like Richard Dreyfuss and Robert Shaw, say "That's a twenty footer!" "Twenty-five, three tons of him." And if you can do Roy Scheider as well, you may feel compelled to add "We're going to need a bigger boat!"

And the Tiger Shark is thirty feet plus.

No idea why the texture for the currently available Great White was just sort of all over white, since Great Whites aren't white, except underneath, but still. Now they can be appropriately black on top as is the chromatically paradoxical habit of Great Whites... And yes, I know Tiger Sharks' stripes tend to fade as they get older and larger so these stripes are a bit bold for a thirty-foot specimen, but since the currently available Tiger Shark's stripes are barely visible, I wanted to make the markings more notable for this one as much for greater variety as any other reason.

(Given their size, these might be useful as Dire/Legendary Sharks as Shadooow mentioned?)

Tarot - I already said my Megalodon was not entirely ready (still augmenting its dentition), but that's not to say it won't get released at a later date, along with the other currently unfinished Sharks and the Giant Sawfish...

And here are those Demoness Tales loadscreens I mentioned:- The two "ship in storm" ones are from a collection of maritime art I had sitting around for ages but I'm afraid I have no information on who the artist/s were. The other one is just a picture of the sea obtained via the pathetically simple expedient of me walking to the bottom of the garden with a camera and taking a photo of the sea when it wasn't looking.

slss.jpg

Not very inspiring, but if they're any use, you're welcome to them.

Am now going to email a big, waterproof box to TAD containing Sharks, the Nautilus, Bathyspheres, etc, etc.

One of my unfinished Sharks is precisely that - a fictional "Hyena Shark". A sort of undersea T-Rex with a formidable arsenal of weaponry... but it's going to take a bit of work yet, so it won't be in this month's box. The rest of the Sharks will probably end up in some future PHoD Creature Hak.
