(Video) You don't need 100s of promotions to play Perilous as a low level.... I am 32-22-30

So I joined a Public Perilous Perilous game as a Level 4 Archer.   32-22-30

My loadout is as follows, Heartstring Bow, Maxed 173 Armor - has 11 Cunning, 8% Melee defense and 6% Ranged Defense

I also run with a Blue 100HP Belt, 2 Purple Heal on Kill Rings and a Superb Amulet of Constitution.

I realise that this loadout is very HP heavy, but it's what I run when I don't want to be a burden to others in a public match.

For Abilities I had Payback Strike and Explosive Shot with Caltrops.

The Caltrops saved my bacon more than once, as if you are downed and an enemy walks on your spikes, the Heartstring Bow gives you an Auto-Revive by virtue of it's Heal-on-hit feature.

I think the key to not being wiped like the floor is to simply pick your fights sensibly, know when to runaway, when to stay back and when to head closer to the enemies.  A massive piece of advice is to skip doors unless the party are all aware that you are about to open it.

HOWEVER!!    The biggest Pro-tip in the Universe is that you can never simply rush to your fallen comrades and revive them UNLESS you are a Legionnaire with Walking Fortress (Higher specced than L4) OR you have a crap-ton of Guard generated.  It is safe to count to around 20 in your head and revive them at an opportune moment as opposed to insta-reviving.  The single most stupid thing that players do in an average match is as thus:  A Templar Assassin (the annoying red buggers who go to stealth and then shank you 20 times rapid-fire) will kill someone and then what ensues is comical.  Someone runs up, ignores the enemy, goes for a revive and voila two down.  The "Hero" upfront doesn't have a clue what happened and is blissfully hacking away and the third dude gets shanked, leaving everyone to watch what is usually a Legionnaire who proceeds to revive, only it often results in a 2nd down for a player as their health was simply overwhelmed by the hordes of enemies that are surrounding the bodies.  Sometimes it's better to soldier on and let your team-mates be revived when you hit the end of an area.  A heck of a lot better than givind them a 2nd down for the sake of a fast-revive.

2 things I noticed:

1. Even with low promotes you seemed to be critting regularly. I am presuming you've stacked Crit chance onto Heartstring. Good move.

2. When you do kill something you get all your health back but you died from not being able to kill something quickly.

Recommendations: (without knowing your levelling strategy) Bow already has 22% HoK and you add 20% = too much.
Not sure if you have ability rings but Long/Explosive shot ring add significant buffs to respective dmg.
Also a Crit dam 20% ring would see your Autos at 400+ dam.
I can understand using con Amy but if you have cun or dex then use that.
Heartstring's ability to heal 30% hp with Leap Shot on kill is the key to this kit. Stack everything else on Dmg improvements and you'll really see a difference.

And don't back yourself into a corner lol!!!
You've got an epic Bow, same as mine n I have 200 promotes, 50 with Archer. Show it some love for me ;)

Note: HoH n caltrops is very inconsistent when KO'd.
Oh, and your a glass cannon, the last thing you ever want to do is stop shooting to pick someone up off the floor. Teabagging is acceptable tho :P

Also a quick question.... Are there newer pieces of armour that offer higher protection - but CAN'T be crafted??  I sometimes when downed notice Legionnaires rocking 220 Armor, or is this as a result of all of their passives stacking up to boost their armour rating??

Oh yeah and as soon as I hit around Level 12, I switch to a Crit Ring for sure, it's just there for the lower level grinds, so I can at least get a crapton of health back when I kill...     Sadly as I don't have those amulets, when I feel it's safe to trade out one of the rings, I equip the Superb Cooldown as I am not exactly spoilt for Belts/Amulets, Rings? Holy Cow! I could start a shop :)

Armour Passives on Lego, Temp, Reaver. Lego can actually go much higher with War Cry.
You have the best Armour. Not the highest upgrades yet. 16 cun. Mine also has 12 wil. I like dmg.
Your always going to be squishy.
Evade is worth trialling and Easy to Miss is helpful but in a bad part of the tree.
Only way to negate squishiness is with raw dmg. You will want to investigate adding Crit chance/dam to your bow grip as your cun improves and you feel less vulnerable to archers.
I run my bow
18% cc
54% cdam
22% hok etc
20% cdam ring, Longshot ring
Stamina Amulet
100hp belt.
4k Long Shots vs Demons (70 will)

I guess a few promotions down the road I will be confident enough to dispose of my HOK Ring and as I get them I can upgrade the Armor further, shame I can't craft the Armor Upgrades...:(

I think I was around 3rd or 4th chest I ever opened, kind of explains why I have been this engrossed in the game, they take a lot of struggle out of your game!!

I use enhanced long shot and superb crit damage rings. I have a second crit damage ring and tried using both but my long shots seems to deal much less damage, so i turn back to my long shot ring instead.

I've put all crit chance(45%) on the heartstring bow grip and spam longshot.

That isn't low promoted for the general pugs in my experience, and people go with low level characters (say 5-10) with no problem.
