It kinda sounds like you don't know what vaporware is.

hah I exactly know what it is. Starcraft Ghost, Versus XIII which is now XV and that game with a huge wolf guardian something I have no idea what that was called... still not released or unkown when. Lmao and if you misread what I said earlier read it again. ME:A is not vaporware perse but close in my "OPINION" too close

Right now Mass Effect has none of those it is very very close for me branding it as vaporware but thankfully it isn't.

You need a clue, not more info on MEA.

LOL

Surely you don't suggest that EA approved a marketing budget for Bio to use on a trailer cinematic that, according to your thinking, is almost vaporware?

What proof do you require?

Yes he is the Star-teen now. You will be his adoptive father and will have to deal with his teen-ager problems. Something like "why everyone hate me?".

Well, yes... but MP is an after thought from the main game.... I don't count it as representative of the story and N7 is all about the Mass Effect story.

Feel free to correct me on this. ^_^

Alright, you are right in that MP should not represent ME3, the series or its universe, and for me it does not represent it. There are however still some N7s in the campaign, not just Shepard. One is Kai Leng, the only boss in the game. The other is Admiral Anderson, who, according to Major Coats was the only reason they were still standing/alive. Then there captain Riley who dies if you don't send help, so she is not near their level of skill, but N7 nonetheless. The N7 weapons can also appear in the campaign, but you already knew this, didn't ya?

Was hoping for much more from this padt E3, and we got next to noting. But since the game is a year and a half off, guess there isn't much more to show.

Dude, the game doesn't come out for a year and a half, at best (it'll probably end up being 2 years+ after the 2-3 mandatory push backs). Chill.

Actually, if the game is one and a half year away, they should have something to show (otherwise it means that the game is super delayed in production and may as well be 3 years away). And they did say ages ago that the game was in a 'playable' state.

But at the same time, if they're gonna show gameplay that is going to change radically in the final version I prefer they keep it for themselves. I don't want to see a lot of features being removed or changed like it happened in DA:I.

_____

My guess is that they'll show some screenshots on the N7 Day explaining vaguely what the game is all about and the gameplay goes for E3 2016. Again, if they're gonna talk about features, I hope they make damn sure they talk about features that will stay in game for now on, I hate when devs promise one thing and then everything changes.

My reasoning behind the statement " N7....implies a connection with Shep.."  is because he is the only one that I can remember, wearing the N7 patch. And really, are you saying that the N7 patch brings visuals of Kaiden, Anderson, et al? Technically you are correct but viscerally ?... it's Shep.

Well, that's my 2 cents...

My biggest fear is if they don't exactly know what the hell are they doing or if they are stuck in development hell please don't be FFXV PLEASE DON'T BE FFXV PLEASE DON'T BE DUKE NUKEM FOREVER

I'm not asking for them to rush the game out the window... NO, I am asking for some "updates" on the developments if possible how we can see it unravel before our very eyes

Not showing something doesn't mean you have nothing to show. Holding back is a marketing decision, and it might be a pretty smart one since there has been a lot of backlash to Inquisition's marketing. They showed off regions and gameplay features pre-launch that were superior to what we got in the final game. What they showed pre-launch even indicates that the first piece of DLC, Jaws of Hakkon, was content cut from the game to be sold later. Stuff like that leaves a bad taste in people's mouths.
ME:A could be right on schedule for a November 2016 release and we have no reason to think otherwise. The other Mass Effect games were made in 3 years or less, so stop being so dramatic.

Development takes time regardless of how much or how little you know where the project is going, often times games that do get sucked into delay hell require project scope overhauls midway through thus years lost restarting the project essentially. ME:A from the very beginning hasn't displayed any of those signs, the game is being built by the Montreal team that made the MP and Omega DLC for ME3 supplimented with a lot of talent from Edmonton, they also have said other studios are helping with other parts of the development. The game is being built with Frostbite 3 for next-gen consoles and PC only, this bodes well as the Dragon Age team already cut their teeth but ran into memory restrictions having to optimize the top end for last gen devices. We've gotten regular updates from developers who seem excited to go to work everyday and see eachother's work. Finally they announced the name with a trailer made with in-game assets, meaning they're already in the phase where they can render components with animation together as they're built.

Not to say things won't get cut or rebuilt, but given at minimum another 14 months of development time ahead, everything looks promising.  :)

[...] so stop being so dramatic.

No drama here, just pointing facts.

If they have footage, but don't want to show it because X, I'm okay. As long as they don't show a feature that won't be on the final product I'm fine. As I've said, they did that mistake with DA:I and it was not cool at all.

That may be a potential problem. ... The lack of practical experience with the FB3 rendering engine by the Montreal group.

Certainly DAI  has/had navigation meshes issues , the hair styles other than a buzz cut,  facial hair, the pathing issues, the performance issues and bugs galore. The Montreal group may run into the same mine field.

I know Bio will gives us an outstanding graphical looking game. But, looks promsing is being optimistic in game performance, FPS, play mechanics, story telling, combat level and AI design, NPCs that make like statues, meaningful side quests, leveling up, a possible "forced" MP combat to obtain better gear and the ever "how to you make exploration interesting"?

Nevertheless, I wish them all good luck.

According to the trailer the game is currently on the very early stage of development, while they officially announced beginning of the development long time ago. Meaning they most likely started and trashed several prototypes of the game. This leads to the feeling they don't know what are they doing.

Now they at last have visible limit of the development cycle, which is rather small. So do you really believe they will make great story-driven game with excellent multi-player?... DA:I quality is what comes to mind here, unfortunately.

Hmm...  I look at it from this point of view.

1. 13 months from now until Nov 2016 launch

2. 12 months from now and the game goes Gold. This allows time for PC media (CDs) to be stamped, boxed, artwork printed and delivered to brick and mortar stores in time for launch day.

3. 11 month from now there is no more development.. just a major debugging effort.

4. 6 months from now, Voice Over acting starts in earnest = 5 mo of work (depends on word budget)

5. 0 months from now, motion capture to allow cinematics, cut-scenes editing and animation to complete

6. Main story already fixed and approved.

7. 0 months from now, artists continue to customize planetary terrain

8. 0 months from now, artist are designing armours and weapons

9. 0 months from now, combat tests, level design and balance testing.

Somewhere in there we also have QA testing, MP testing, debugging...etc.

I really doubt the game is in its early stages, else I misunderstood your meaning of "early development".

It's the entire trailer, actually. It shows fake cutscene without any meaning. Nothing story or gameplay related. Meaning they have nothing to show yet.
