Didn't BioWare say something about keeping your ME3 saves?
Wonder what that will lead to, hopefully just armor or weapons from the past game.
Will we be able to import our saves into Mass Effecr Andromeda?

I can't quite grasp your reason for clinging to the trilogy events. The Shep story ended. That particular pocket universe, that we call Shep (for want of another name) in the Mass Effect IP is done. It is no more.
ME:A is new. It is designed as a Mass Effect game, with new characters, new worlds, new friends, new LIs... Understand that ME:A is not Shep's universe. It now belongs to someone else.
While it's probably true that MEA will have nothing to do with Shepard, the fact remains that the original trilogy happened and it will be incredibly difficult for it not to be acknowledged in some way. Whether it's a prequel, distant sequel or a story that happens along side the events of the original trilogy, Shepard has marked the galaxy and universe that we know as Mass Effect. When I see Mass Effect, I think of my Shepard.
