What's the sweet spot for promotion?

Currently I'm at around mid 25 across the board for my stats and I thoroughly enjoy running perilous with my friends who have similar stats -- it offers just the right amount of challenge and totally doable with a team that is willing to work together. I want to keep promoting and be able to run NM and HB eventually. However, I was wondering, if there's a point where once you break through it, the game starts to lose its value because everything suddenly becomes too easy? In another word, at what point do you recommend me to stop promoting so the end game content would still be fun and challenging?

Thank you!

First post,how sweet.

On topic.

I am in 60's range and NM is still challenging.

For game being too easy on NM an HB,guys like Medallian can answer better than me :D

Ppl with 300-400 promotes still find nightmare challenging. And only the god of DAIMP do heartbreaker regularly.

The grind never stops, bro.

75 across board

**** everything I said before, I got the shadow numbers mixed up. It's 500-600 per hit on a rogue (173 armor, 23 con). At 75 everything assuming 1400 hp, the shadow would deal would 300-400 on nightmare so 4-5 hits. Not a one shot, but you can't stay in it and laugh it off. That's where I would cap promotions if you wanted to make it not too easy.

25 range is very comfortable for perilous. Especially with armor buff. I was doing peri around that range before the armor buff. You can try nightmare and in a good team it should be very challenging but manageable around 40ish - I mean actually enjoyable with some tankier characters though it still will be a "grind" , though 60+ in cunning and will is really recommended if you want to play softer dps characters like archer on nm cause them ranged attacks hurt. Get will and cun up to 50+ asap than you can do ok in NM if you play smart.

If you play archer on NM, RT shadows will owns you regardless of how smart is your gameplay. You NEED a ton of constitution.

Yes shadows are a problem, and result in more deaths than from any other enemy unit I always had at least one keeper or Lego when running nm for barrier or aggro management though. And on archer for instance I take spike trap when going into nm to at least have a chance to send the bloody things into the air before they attack me. So in zone 3 I specifically save spike trap + leaping shot to deal with any shadow that comes too close.

I love Lego as well. The War Cry and Counterstrike aoe taunts can be a life saver for the team. So the rest of the dps in the party can actually do their thing without getting knocked down or chased constantly. That's the real value in Lego for NM, i think.

on a side note 400 willpower seems to be the sweet spot for DMG on NM, after that its all bout HP

I'm sorry but if one finds nm sill hard with that many promotions, then that person is either a bad player or is lacking gear wise. I have 40 across the board and don't think it's really challenging.

A good team is very important no matter what though. My team have similar stats too, and we do nm runs in 30 min average.

If you have 300 promotions and find NM hard then you might just need to L2P.

Should have clarified. What I said above generally apply to those who PUG with those stats and generally have to carry 2 other ppl along. Not a full team of promoted players. My point is the game is still challenging despite many promotions. I mainly pug so those are my observations.

I said challenging, not hard. Doable but I can't be watching youtube videos while playing NM. Unlike perilous.

Just two manned it the other day with my brother who only got around 50 promotes. Was challenging. And I think OP was referring to himself in singular and not to the whole team.

Never stop promoting. If you worry that  you might over-promote yourself and break the game, I can tell you that it is not going to happen.
I am at 255, 343, 215 - being at the 80% Damage Resistance cap, the game won't become significantly easier for me with further promotions. While NM is somewhat easy (with room for mistakes and lazy play) HB is something else entirely. Zone 5/5 HB is simply not fun at all.

I'm guessing ~60 promotions would be good enough if you're able to get the right team and play strategically. Right now, I'm shooting for 70's across the board (I'm roughly at 60 with all my stats).

man there's running NM and going through, then there is burning through, there is a certain time that you need to run maps in to garnish the most exp per hour.... and if you run over the effective limit you might as well step down a difficulty because your going to get more EXP out of it..... I know you dont need GOD stats like mine to run NM, but there's a certain stat threshold you need to clear to run it effectively or it is not worth it.... so when People like me throw out you need 200 to every stat, that's to be effective and meet that threshold.... for NM it is 25 minutes max.... if it takes your more then that, your better of running Perilous for EXP regardless of how easy it is...

Unless the goal of completing the NM run is to get the Hakkon weapons, dragon kills, and NM completions.  Verses just exp alone.

It's just a goal I'm setting for myself. Quite frankly I just haven't been able to pull in a good team of friends to do NM. I'm sure it's not necessary to have 70's across the board.

And yes, I'm mostly aiming at Hakkon Weapns and Dragons.

BiggyDX,

I set similar goals for myself.  I enjoy having my stats even across the board as well.  I think we bumped into each other the other day.  In a perilous lobby if I'm not mistaken.

Or for the thrill of nightmare.  I want to be thrilled, dammit.

we have run into each other a few times.  Send me a FR and let's get some games soon.  As far as promotes, I am right in the same ballpark as you.  It makes NM fun while still challenging.
