I don't care much for the physical appearance of the defaults, since I will never use them. But I want voices that fell younger this time. I don't want another tough guy voice. At least give me the option of a softer one, so If I make a young looking PC (not a tenager, but a young 20s character) the voice doesn't feel weird on him/her.
Likeness and Voice of the main character?

The likeness of the main character is probably a colaboration between the artist(s) and the writer(s). Now if our PC starts out as a 90lb weakling I expect a physical change over time ... more athletic, move with self confidence and with some facial changes to reflect this positive change.
As to voice selection... a tricky job. It ought to reflect the character. I'll pass on this one.

Morgan Freeman and that voice... needs to be in ME:A.. It would be cool to have a villain voiced by Morgan Freeman!

I would like Samuel L. Jackson to voice one of my squadmates, though.
(Samuel voice) I've had it with these mother-effing synthetics on this mother-effing ship! (Straps in and briefly opens airlock)
I am not one for cussing, but with the right voice...

I do have to ask, are these people you pick for the likeness of the character based on who you think would be a good fit for an interstellar pathfinder/explorer or are you merely trying to create the perfect Waifu/Husbando?
Not that I am judging anyone, if you want a dainty baby faced model to play the part of your rugged space marine then I am not saying that you shouldn't be able to express that, merely curious as to what is influencing your decisions.

Well, I may have not picked a dainted Baby faced Model, BUT... I simply don't want to play some rugged Space Marine. I want a sophisticated Gentleman, not a Grunt. And not someone rugged, gruff, you know the Buzzwords. A Gentleman Explorer is far cooler than your average rugged Space Marine Cowboy. Fuckin' hate all these calls for something rugged and gruff and stuff. Damnit.

You know what I mean, somebody who looks like they can handle themselves in tough situations. Doesn't have to have a face like beef jerky (though having the option would be nice) but at least looks like they can at least take a punch.

I'm a fan of characters that seem harmless, cute and innocent at first but who can kick serious ass when necessary.

Yeah I find those types of characters usually fall a little too far into Mary Sue territory.

The guy I picked has played a rugged warrior in The 100 and the woman played a robot designed to be a soldier, so my choices are because I think they would fit.I do have to ask, are these people you pick for the likeness of the character based on who you think would be a good fit for an interstellar pathfinder/explorer or are you merely trying to create the perfect Waifu/Husbando?

But now that there's the Idris Elba option, all other options are made of fail. It's really a waste of resources for Bioware to have a non-Idris Elba option.
I'd dig an Idris Elba type guy. A cool looking black man with a deep voice and British accent would be great I think. And I'm kind of inclined to believe that if there is a 'default' type of character like Vanderloo then I think this time Bioware probably should (and most likely will) go with someone who isn't white. I'm fine with this. But I'm kind of thinking it might be a good idea to have a non-white female as the default player character. Perhaps that is what they are planning since in the trailer there does appear to be a female character in similar armor.

I feel as though it's an obligation to post this whenever Van Der Beek is mentioned.

I'd pay to have that mocap added to the game.
