I will never understand how this is fun. I mean i can see how hunting in general can be fun. You know, going out into the woods, tracking and hunting your mark untill you get it than cook it up like a deer or something but this wasn't even sport. They lured it out and It was just pure murder.

That being said the demonization of Americans is partly hilarious and partly dissapointing in the world. Brb ignoring the millions of the Americans that contribute postively to the world and singling out a few like this guy or whoever beat up that hitchhiking robot and going on rants as if those are fair representation of your average American.

I think that's the other aspect that's troubling about this for me. I could never see myself hunting, but I could see a certain appeal in learning to track your prey, studying its movements, etc, that sort of thing. Maybe it's the media influence on this, but I kinda got the impression that his conversation/attitude with the hunter was more: "I want you to do all the leg work, and I'll just kill it" which to me is a lot less interesting.

I mean I empathized with the comedian myself hoping it wasn't an american. We have such a bad rap already. Situations like this you just go "woah woah please tell me, it wasn't one of us right?" Because then you get the many people ready to swear your evil because of your national background putting us on the defense a bit. "But I am not like that man" doesn't seem to reach people so much.

If you fed a lion daily, with his daily ration of meat and fresh water, no f. way he's going to hunt again in his whole life.

Hunting, both for animals and man, has been and is a necessity, not a thing done for fun.

Sure, man has tried to do it for fun, with the only effect of endangering species or stimulating unnecessary violence in his society.

They're also more beautiful as a living and breathing animal in the wild, doing what nature designed it to do, rather than as a lifeless husk stuffed and mounted on someone's wall.

This is all I can think about reading this.

Hey there is that funky TV show called Zoo  where all the animals on Earth have decided to fight mankind...

Crazy ass show which makes zero sense but it's watchable, sort of.

Nor should they. The average person in Zimbabwe reaches the age of 36 before they die. They got bigger problems than some old lion (13 years old folks, Cecil wasn't some spring chicken) got shot by a white westerner who (to his knowledge) paid for it legally.

Said it before will say it again. It's a first world problem.

Exactly, people have some messed up priorities, people are killing other people for NO REASON other than the color of their skin, or the god they worship. **** Cecil the Lion, stop killing each other, and learn to love one another despite your differences before you start bemoaning a damn lion.

You say I can't be mad at both? Well fine If I have to choose I'll choose a Lion as those guys are probably not going to last at the rate humanity is killing them off.

Then more people need to like Naruto. If it stops the BS that happens everyday, with people closing their eyes and only opening when the silliest things gets whispered in their ears. You think some guy who paid to kill a Lion is more important than say the hundreds of illegally poached animals the world over? Where's the protest for that? Where are all the people looking to snitch those guys out?

What about the many people in Zimbabwe who are actually starving, diseased, lacking in simple things like medicine and food, many of which doing whatever they can to earn a dollar no matter what it is. Cecil was living better than a good deal of the native people to Zimbabwe. No protest for that though.

Maybe there's a reason for that?

Fear for the extinction of an endangered species maybe?

How many humans are there on this planet? I know that if we haven't hit the carrying capacity in the next 5 years we're going to be all in some danger soon.

No one said anything in that post about not having a choice, but thank you for pointing out another fact, people don't even listen to anything that isn't "You're right I agree with you 100%" because they are too self absorbed in their own crusade to be seen a politically correct. Get off it, be mad, but if you're going to be mad, be mad about ALL the things that are wrong, One Lion is enough to start a thread sparking 11 pages of support, but the next wrongfully killed blackman who gets shot to death by a white cop simply because he was believed to be in violation of a law and the media then claims it's justified, yet when the same happens to a white person by a white cop it's called excessive force and the outcry is 10x louder, and that cop is lucky if he has a chance at parole in 25.

Really you wanna generalize humanity? Where is this same generalization when it comes to race? religion? creed? color? Why isn't humanity a unified whole if it can be so easily categorized? How can any creature that has a population in the hundreds in captivity go extinct? here's a clue, they can't. Did this hunter break any Laws? not directly, he paid for his adventure and was mislead, yet people are outraged that he did it? Then why allow hunting of said Lion's in the first? I'll you why because like with every other animal that is hunted there are checks and balances to make sure that the creatures have a chance to replenish their numbers, and even if they didn't the outrage really should be at Zimbabwe for not having such checks and balances in place, note they never said Lion hunting was illegal there, they are upset that one was lured out of captivity.

Do you people not see the difference between this case of a wrongful death and poaching? Cecil wasn't killed by poachers, he was killed by a hunter, who wanted to bag a Lion, his guides led him astray, they should be punished yes but probably not the guy who didn't know what the hell was going on other than getting what he paid for.

You're directing your anger at the wrong people.

If there's anyone you should be pointed the finger and accusation of hypocrisy at, it's the media (as you've said yourself already) that doesn't give a flying rat's ass about anything for as long as it doesn't raise their quotas and thus makes them money.

So how about you stop projecting your anger on a user who's been more than moderate in his views and actually direct your energy to something useful, or at least the right targets if you just want to continue your own little social crusade.

To be fair, Naruto was pretty good up until the end of the Chuunin Exam arc, only then did it flush down the drain.

Maybe someone lured Kishimoto's creational spirit out his head and shot it after that?

I do care about human life.

But I care about lions too.

I care about the needy and desperate.

You should instead blame the media. If I hear about a child that's been abused and takes his own life I feel horrible for that soul.

If I heard a man was beaten to death because he loved other men, I'd feel bad too.

If I saw someone dying slowly from a disease I'd care too.

If I heard someones story from Zimbabwe, I'll become invested just as I heard about Cecil the Lion's story.

Your observation was that my priorities are fucked up was a wrong assumption to begin with. Make a story known to me and I'll become invested.

I only chose lions to humans because you suggested I couldn't love both so I chose to go with an arbitrary excuse to select one over the other, deal with it.

Aye, but it's the 1/10 non-trash part that everyone starts with, gets to like and then most people just stick to it. Loyalty is stupid like that.

Same with Bleach.

One of Cecil's cubs has been killed by a rival male.

It might be a good idea to step in and protect those cubs for the sake of genetic diversity.
