Its also abit bizarre  that people react with this much anger and demand that something is done about it (which in itself isn't a bad thing), and at the same time completely ignores that children die of starvation down there every hour. Puts people's radars in perspective, really. If the amount of energy spent on fueling the lynchmob thats after the dentist *******, could be spent on feeding the children down there...

Yeah because a person can't care about more than one thing at a time right? So humans are only supposed to care about humans and only humans? I'm sure there are many people out there who would rather dedicate their time to the starving children and spread awareness to that cause. Good for them that they do.

I don't know why one thing has to be more important than the other. Personally, I only donate and dedicate my time to animals. Doesn't make me any better or worse than a person who only does it for humans or both.

Nah just sentence him to shovel lion fece in a zoo for the next 25 years.

Him shoveling lion feces won't get me to Otakon tho.

And there's only one year left or something.

I should probably say none of this is serious except the part about him being scum and hoping karmically bad things happen to him.

Because tbh I think it'll be a cold day in hell before he's extradited for this or faces any kind of legal repercussions in the US.

One more year of it being in Baltimore.

2017 it goes to DC.

Where everything will cost more.

Seems the dentist isn't the only poacher that's killing animals for fun down there.

Please. The crowd that is so outraged over this doesn't give even half the amount of consideration towards things like Christians being slaughtered and run out of Iraq and Syria, starving kids, or political prisoners in North Korea. Maybe if they were fluffy...

And humans > animals. That's why one thing has to be more important than another. I love animals, but one dead lion is ****** inconsequential.

Eh, that has nothing to do with things being fluffy and/or desensitivized to human tragedies and everything with people jumping on sensations like a moth is drawn to the flame.

If Dennis Rodman started executing political prisoners in NK by throwing basketballs at them until they died, people would be having the same fit as long is it makes news.

I have my own approach. Practice Apathy. You'll drive yourself mad if you dwell on every single person, animal or plant that dies every day. Does it suck? Sure it does. Should I care? Not really because someone dying in Africa from starvation is beyond your control. Can you send a dollar? Sure you can. Will it help? Most likely not as they breakdown that dollar to cover minor expenses. Its just easier to care only about yourself and a select few. Mainly your immediate family.

I'd actually like to see a video of that.

*shrug* I care more about animals honestly and they're more important to me. Doesn't mean I don't care about humans. I don't care if other people care more about humans than animals either. People will care for whatever they want to care. I choose to care about animals.

All I can say to quote Ricky Gervais of all people...

"If you don't have empathy with animals, you don't really have empathy at all."

I mean, I get it. I just think a lot of people have lost their heads over this and are being ridiculously spiteful and are out to ruin this man's career and his life. I do understand the anger to an extent since I saw some actual, horrific animal cruelty earlier this year that really bothered me for a couple of weeks but this is more of a legal issue surrounding permits and where the lion was killed.

Lions are assholes but I do feel bad that it was killed with a bow and arrow and took so many hours to die. Reminds me of a nature documentary I saw where

Spoiler

I hope the meat from that buffalo was salvaged for some local charities. If not, then that was a really shameful waste.

Guy should be punished for breaking the law, but all this outrage for the death of a lion is ridiculous.

I'm not sure what a Lion "trophy" is supposed to do for him anyway. You had a massive technological advantage with a weapon designed for killing. Try killing a lion with your bare hands and then I'll be impressed.

Also, of course he has regrets now that half the planet is calling for his head on a spike over this.

Plus I dislike trophy hunting, but I think there are far more worthy causes for the internet to lose their collective s*** over than a single lion.

I think "trophy" hunting is pointlessly cruel, whether what the guy did was legal or not (it wasn't).

That said, I find it both funny and depressing how we've gotten so used to hearing about people dying in Africa that it doesn't provoke much of a reaction anymore. As opposed to a glorified lion being killed, that is. I guess it could be that people have an easier, closer target.

The was a brief scare that Jericho had also been killed, but he is apparently fine.
