Please. The crowd that is so outraged over this doesn't give even half the amount of consideration towards things like Christians being slaughtered and run out of Iraq and Syria, starving kids, or political prisoners in North Korea. Maybe if they were fluffy...

It is a logical fallacy to declare, "If you're vocal about issue X, it must mean you don't care about issue Y and Z."

I'm not sure what a Lion "trophy" is supposed to do for him anyway. You had a massive technological advantage with a weapon designed for killing. Try killing a lion with your bare hands and then I'll be impressed.

Also, of course he has regrets now that half the planet is calling for his head on a spike over this.

Plus I dislike trophy hunting, but I think there are far more worthy causes for the internet to lose their collective s*** over than a single lion.

There are only about 20,000 lions left in the wild and certain population groups have a low amount of genetic diversity, its a major concern conservation wise.

I didn't say it wasn't a concern. I said there's better stuff for people to have a fit over, like all the terrible things that happen to Humans on a daily basis.

but apparently the people only like throwing a fit about Human lives when we can make a political statement along with it.

Well, not entirely.

The lion lived in Zimbabwe after all.

He killed him with a bow. I'm sure it was a compound bow, but there's skill involved to make a shot. Regardless, mankind is not a species that does well killing apex predators with our bare hands - we lack the natural strength and sharp bits. Sure, you'll get the odd story of a man who 1v1 a bear irl but it's an outlier that can't be done without significant injury. We've used tools to hunt for tens of thousands of years, so this notion that gets thrown around that it's unmanly to kill animals with weapons doesn't wash.

It is a logical fallacy to declare, "If you're vocal about issue X, it must mean you don't care about issue Y and Z."

I'm sure they care so much about it, that's why those are all issues that have widespread, vocal support like this dead lion and the calls for blood over this dentist. Like I said, half the consideration.

I would agree if we were dealing with animals that there is an abundance of.

Ah, I so love the hypocrisy of people, who think it's acceptable to kill some animals and not the others.

I mean, how could anyone possibly kill a lion! It's basically a big cat, and cat's are so cute! You wouldn't kill a cat, would you?

Men are such monsters for killing those innocent wild animals for trophies!

But killing billions of cows, pigs and chickens for food is fine. Killing other animals for fur is fine.

Hell, sitting with a fishing rod near a lake or a river is apparently fine too, despite the fact, that most of those people do it for fun, and not for food.

Those people are opposed only to killing animals they perceive as beautiful or cute, apart from a handful of those, who oppose killing all animals.

I honestly don't know which of those two groups is worse.

I would agree if we were dealing with animals that there is an abundance of.

Animals die out. They had been dying out before humans came, and will be dying out long after our species is no more.

That''s how natural selection works.

Thing is, brobear.

You ain't wrong.

But treating it like a non issue.

Makes it seem douchey.

Like.

This will die down.

And another bad thing will hit the news.

And people will hate that too.

But this will still remain a problem.

Whilst that other bad thing is the cool thing to talk about it.

Ugh I hate doing this, but look at that poor Madeline girl.

That's a terrible awful thing. But it was on everyone's mind and on the news for months and it was the 'cool thing.'

Were there other kidnappings and horrible things happening then? Yes! But that was still an awful thing.

So yes, it's a 'trend' now. But what you're saying is basically hipster talk for 'following the crowd.'

There's a lot of people that feel deeply for a lot of things. This is simply just one of them.

That's a separate issue.

Another thing that needs to be addressed.

The living conditions for cattle are terrible.

But this is different.

This is killing to compensate for your tiny penis.

You are endangering a species. Ignore it and they will die out.

There were 250,000 Lions estimated to be alive in 1975

Now there are 20-30,000.

Do you really need me to tell you just how f*cked up that is?

Take your moral fallacies elsewhere.

This post is assuming a whole lot just to make it's point, which is only tangibly relevant for the actual topic at hands.

And no, human's causing species extermination due to environmental negligence or killing for whichever non-subsistence reason isn't natural selection. You might want to read up on the scientific definition for whichever concept you're trying to apply in the future.

Yes it is natural selection.

Humans are part of nature. If we limit territory of other species or hunt it down to extinction it is natural selection. Just as if wolves hunted deer to extinction.

That just means that lions, tigers, elephants, rhinos or other endangered animals lost the competition against us.

Every living being is a subject to natural selection. Humans are no exception.

Still no. And you might still want to actually read up the definition. After all it's useless trying to discuss a point when one side evidently has little understanding of what the point actually is.
