A wormhole has its own problems i.e. it's sudden appearance will be way too convenient.

Which is why, I am guessing, it wont be conveniently arising out of nowhere. I strongly, strongly suspect that if they go the wormhole route that the Remnant created it and the MW species are aware of this - thus why they view them as a benevolent, guiding species.

I still think a wormhole is too convenient, even if what you state is true.

A wormhole created by another species is more convenient than one naturally occurring.

A wormhole created by another species is more convenient than one naturally occurring.

Hardly. One naturally occurring would have to a) conveniently appear right when the species of the galaxy would need it to, in order to escape the Reapers (assuming our timeline for exodus from the MW is correct), b ) conveniently take them to Andromeda, and safely at that, c) be a traversable wormhole, which assuming they don't handwave the physics, is extraordinarily, extremely, vanishingly unlikely to exist naturally within the universe and d) actually be found by the species of the MW, studied, and its' destination deduced prior to travel.

That's a long list of conveniences. C) is particularly troubling to me. ME has not explored wormhole physics before, but they DO take direct adherence to real life physics (in that they created the mass effect as a clever way to circumvent special relativity) and cosmology. So, if they want to create a believable wormhole, it will not be a naturally occurring one. Einstein -Rosen bridges were proven to be unstable in the 1950's, and it wasn't until the late 1990's that physicists worked out the equations required for traversible wormholes, which require exotic matter.

Compare this if one was created, deliberately. It would a) conveniently appear right when the species of the galaxy needed it, most likely as a deliberate means to escape the Reapers.

All the other criteria for it are not convenient, as they would be deliberately engineered into the wormhole, including presumably the location of its' appearance and foreknowledge of the destination.

Of course, all of that would be out the window if the writers chose to ignore the real life theoretical physics of wormholes. But if they don't, anyone who knows anything about them at all couldn't possible think that a naturally occurring wormhole would be less convenient.

I agree that a naturally occurring wormhole is extremely convenient, I don't deny that.

However an artificially created wormhole has an even longer list of conveniences consisting of:

1) Being made at the right time when our galaxy needs it most.

2) Being made at the right place where our ship/fleet is.

3) Being able to take them to Andromeda safely.

4) Our ship/fleet trusting this random wormhole to be their salvation rather than destruction.

5) The creators of the wormhole having a means to keep an eye on the Milky Way to even know of the Reaper harvests.

6) The Reapers missing this technology for who knows how many cycles.

7) Being closed at the right time so the Reapers don't follow.

Meanwhile like you said a natural wormhole which has the conveniences of:

1) Being made at the right time when our galaxy needs it most.
2) Being made at the right place where our ship/fleet is.
3) Being able to take them to Andromeda safely.
4) Our ship/fleet trusting this random wormhole to be their salvation rather than destruction.
5) Being closed at the right time so the Reapers don't follow.

So while it isn't much less convenient, it still is less convenient for a naturally occurring wormhole to be our means than an artificially occurring wormhole. Besides, this is considering we leave before or during the Reaper War which has no data supporting it.
