I was just watching a video on youtube by SSBS where he is suggesting that there will be some character carry over from the original trilogy. Something I've been thinking for a while too. As far as we know there will be no save import. To make it possible it would need to be a character that always survives the trilogy. I think Vega does. Also we aren't exactly sure of the timeline. We know the guy in the trailer is not the player character. We know as others have pointed out that his armor's color scheme is similar to Shepard's. Vega was accepted in the N7 though he hadn't started his training. And he was kind of Shepard's protege and deeply respected his mentor. Just an idea. Thoughts?
What if the N7 guy from the trailer is James Vega?

James Vega can die in Mass Effect 3. He is killed by Harbinger during the beam run if your EMS is too low.

Really? Dang. Well there goes that theory. I happen to like Vega I thought it might be a good tie-in.

He could show up as a cameo if he survives, but since he can die I doubt he'll be a major character.

Honestly, I don't think the N7 Soldier looks Beefy McMuscles enough to be Jimmy. Some say Andromeda takes place years after the original trilogy, and that none of the original characters will make an appearance in the next installment.
Maybe he's the Stig.

I wouldn't object to BioWare using FPJr. again.
I had my doubts going into ME3 but I thought his performance there and as Iron Bull were both great. He's a talented guy. Wouldn't mind if they brought him back in a different role.

Well, someone needs to take care of him since Top Gear was cancelled.
I guess Bioware adopted him. ![]()

I feel like he joined up with the "stock company" of voice actors they employ now a days. You see the same 30 or so actors and actresses involved in additional, NPC and main character voices all the time.
I say use everyone that way. We need more Ramon Tikaran, Grey DeLise, Sumalle Montanos, and Ike Amadi's in there too.

It was said at E3 that the N7 guy, isn't our character. So it's possible Jimmy "James" Vega, could be our pro. However, unlikely, because A) you won't be able to change genders, or customize face. B] ME:A's likely decades or hundreds of years from ME3.

I'd rather not. Every default human male squadmate has been pretty boring.

James Vega is much larger in body mass that the character we've seen.
It is called Mass Effect for a reason...
More seriously, why do people insist bringing original trilogy characters into MEA anyway? For all we know, MEA takes place hundreds of years into the future.

I agree with 3 out of 4 of those names, but cannot endorse Sumalee. I've only played 2 games where she voiced a major character, well an option for a major character anyway, those games being Saints Row: The Third and Dragon Age: Inquisition. Admittedly I'm biased, not necessarily against her, but (heavily) in favor of her competition: Laura Bailey in SR:TT and Alix Wilton Regan in DA:I.
I'll put it this way: I'm as entranced with their voices as Traynor is with EDI's.

While I think Alix does a great job in DAI, I generally dislike those sorts of high-pitched girly voices for female protagonists. A deeper, more no-nonsense voice (like Sumalee, or Jennifer Hale in ME) is more my style.

He is James Vegan, he won't use animal-based products.

And only if the expedition is launched after the end of the Reaper war where humanity decides they want a new home and a current galaxy that's 99% unexplored isn't big enough for them.

Makes more sense than leaving before or during the war, considering at those times the trip is impossible.
