*SOLVED*

I'm supposed to fetch an NPC and I can't find him anywhere. This is kinda embarrasing because I've actually played this module before, and more than once, but I don't remember anything that may help me here.

Spoiler

Does anyone know where the hell is he? Alternatively, is there a way to spawn him? I'd prefer to avoid using the console (and to finish the quest in a different way), but if all else fails, I might have to.

I never got far. I was supposed to cast some spell on a tree nearby early on and it didnt seem to work gave up. People say it was great but it was pretty plain and empty to that point about 40 minutes in. What did I do wrong?

Sometimes you have a dialogue option to cast a spell. I guess the game may not recognise it if you just cast it manually.

It sounds like you didn't play much past the intro. The plot grows more complex later on, though maybe it just isn't your cup of tea.

I have now played a lot of top 3rd party NWN2 modules, this is still pretty much my favorite. Though I prefer story telling module, to other kinds.

No, I have yet to play everything... :)

Edit:

Tried "Live Forever":

Maimed God Saga is story driven.

Live Forever is more tedium driven. Did not like it at all. Endless clicking through 1 line at a time sophomoric philosophical dialogs.

I'm having problems with this module (which I love and have played to completion before and never had any problems). Every time I try to go through the portal to finish the first act the game crashes to desktop and then corrupts any save made on that map in fact just trying to load a save on that map ends up crashing and the save corrupted. I can't get past that spot, but I had an old save beyond that point so I just loaded that but now when I got to the Bastion just before the assembly again the same thing trying to load an area it crashes to desktop and corrupts any saves made on that map.

I already deleted the modules and re-downloaded them and the same thing happened in exactly the same spot with a new play-through. Anyone know any solutions or can point me in the right direction? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Never had that problem. Any mod installed?

Hmm, I do have a few... I'll see if cleaning out my override file fixes it.

EDIT: Just play tested it and yes I'm pretty sure it was one of the mods I had installed now I just have to figure out which one it was. Thank you so much I hadn't even thought of that. :D

You're welcome. Hopefully you don't run into any more problems if you continue without that mod.

I find, when playing other's mods, it's best to rename my override folder to something like /override_bak. And then create a new override folder (only if necessary and specified by the mod developer) and place any files in it that the dev specifies. This way, each game gets exactly what it needs, and only what it needs, and nothing can foul it up.
