Maybe it's you.
Yes, maybe it's just you.

Which is why I choose Dorian each play through. Tevinter; the first time, every time.
Yeah, I tried to think of a "bad boy" trait Dorian showed, and I got nothin'.
He rebels against the established order back home, but that just seems more "political activist" to me.

Unfortunately for some of us lady players, we don't get to enjoy that sweetheart as anything but a BFF.

Yeah the most perfect guy in DAI and he only likes men. So typical. Lol but I do adore his friendship with my lady Inquisitor, who is happy to be in a steady relationship with Cullen, so all's good!

He actually gives you a version of the 'it's not you, its me' for the Lady Inquisitors. I was impressed how they handled that. He actually IS the nice guy of the Male LIs. Cullen is a good guy with a dark past...similar to Blackwall actually, except that he is confronting his past and trying to move past it. Of course, Cullen is only gated for Elves and Human. My poor Qunari missed out...haha!

I remember on my second PT I flirted with Dorian and when he revealed his sexual preference he says that if this was in another life, then stops himself from going further with that train of thought. It's as if he did feel something for her, but couldn't pursue it because it wasn't who he was and he didn't want to hurt her.
Cullen was meant for all, as well as males, but time caused it to be cut it seems. Same with Solas.
There is a little bit of Jerk in every man.
Cullen romance is a well-rounded mix of fluffy, goofy, intensely romantic, sexy, mature, level-headed, and just the right amount of angst that doesn't debilitate your relationship.
The closest Cullen came to being a jerk in this game is to one of his lackeys during the first legit romance scene, but that's forgivable because he acted out of frustration from being cockblocked

Other than, very jerk/bullsh*t free so

Just because someone made mistakes in the past doesn't make them a jerk in my book. Or a "bad boy", eugh. That word tho, that word.
I despised Cullen when I started playing the game (my entire summary of Cullen was "You're whiny, boring and annoying. Where did you get all your bloody fangirls!") so he was pretty much a jerk at the start of my first playthrough, but turned out he actually went through character development, so I ended up romancing him. Twice.
Although I am secondguessing my choice now that I adore Sera as much if not more than him. But the race-gating makes things difficult.
Iron Bull is the best.
He keeps the Inquisitor happy.
Did you ever think the problem is you, Taylor Swift? ![]()
Or you could just say "screw men" and date Sera ![]()
I tried the Blackwall romance and just couldn't continue it, though that may be because I know of the eventual betrayal. Cullen twice on a couple of different play throughs, IB on a different play through though I am not done with that romance. I love the fan fic for Solas, but his continual absolute refusal to date a human, well
on that!!
If there is any romance (I am hoping) with the upcoming dlc I will stick with Cullen for it .
Or just romance no-one at all. Think I'll do that after my first male Qunari playthrough. I'll make a little poppet of a Dwarf with a big massive axe (make her a red head too, just to tease Bull) and then have her romance nobody. Maybe just flirt a bit with Dagna and stare longingly at Varric.

All DA:I male romances for females are "bad boys".
"50 Shades of Iron" Bull is a BDSM expert.
Renegade Blackwall is a fugitive from the law.
Soul-less Solas is a manipulative trickster who plays mind games.
And ol' "Kill 'em all" Cullen is a drug addict.
Have fun.

Oh yes he will and world will shake.
Yellow eyes? That's not right... Oh! I get it now, that's after he absorbed Mythal's power. That's Flemeth's eye color.
Actually Cullen started his DA life as an absolute jerk to mages. He even called for the Right of Annulment on the Fereldan circle, if you recall. Maybe he does go through some character development, but unfortunately not enough to make him even remotely interesting to my mages in DAI.
I generally go for Cullen when I play as my own gender. It's easy in that he's relatively uncomplicated (despite the lyrium addiction). Iron Bull is fun if you are into kink. And surprisingly loyal. I think if you want a happy ending, Cullen is the way to go. Or just don't romance anyone and flirt mercilessly with Dorian. I typically don't play as a male but I've played as a male just to romance Dorian (twice.. the third time I tried to romance Cass but she wouldn't have me so I ended up having that inquisitor romance Dorian as well).. He's the bees knees.

Well if he starts drinking lyrium again he breaks up with you and if not gets really touchy if you keep getting in the way of his templar "duties". You don't have a problem with him choosing lyrium and the Order over you?

To be fair to Cullen, though, this was right after being tortured for weeks if not months by demons and abominations in the Circle. He wan't exactly at his best.
Well op, at least none of them is jacob from mass effect.

I completely understand that his views on mages would be tainted by his trauma... however, and admittedly never having been tortured myself, I only surmise that it seems to take an extra.. something... to insist on the killing of potential innocents.
