Before Inquisition came out, I was very excited to play as a male Elf. Disappointingly, the male Elf Inquisitors look ridiculous. Their arms look like broken twigs. What's more, their Skyhold outfit is hideous, to say the least.

 

The community has been complaining to Bioware to fix not just the male Elves and the character models in Inquisition in general but Bioware has, as usual, ignored it.

 

Well, if you are a PC player, then fear not. There are mods that fix this.

 

1) Custom Body Models

This mod allows you to customize your Inquisitor's Body Mesh. So far, this is only for male and female elves, Qunari, and human and dwarven females, however, other races and genders are currently being worked on.It is still in beta so be warned of that.

So yeah, download them and have fun with a richer DAI experience. I certainly enjoy playing the game more now. The broken arm thing is nonexistent with the custom body models and you can actually have an elf who can swing a greatsword.

Well good news for PC people... Here I was thinking and rejoicing over the fact that maybe my male Lavellan would finally have shoulders and then I saw that it was a PC mod - as if they'd fix it themselves 

 

I wouldn't even mind the skyhold pj's if the elf inquisitors looked a little less emaciated - I mean, their bodys were fine before, but in DAI they took the slenderness a bit too far (the males especially look a little sickening tbh)

So I am playing the Witcher right now, and will likley not get back to Inquisition until sometime in late August. Given that I detest the hair choices and the PJs - I am tempted to buy the game and start anew on my PC. My PC meets the minimum specs - according to Can I Run It -  so I should probably upgrade.

1) PC + Controller is the best way to play DAI. Keyboard and Mouse do not work very well with this game.

 

2) For DAI mods, just download the appropriate DAI Mod Manager on Nexusmods and follow the instructions on that particular modpage.

I just finished my male elf pt and I loved it. I have to admit, however, that being able to use mods played a huge role in this.

 

Everything went well, until the first Skyhold scene where your Harold is made Inquisitor. Then my eyes started to bleed. What happened to my slim, but elegant archer? He turned into an emaciated wreck.

 

So first I looked for a better and more flattering Skyhold Outfit and found a marvelous one for elves.

And then, later, I just endulged myself and used the body mod for elves by Aravasia (link from op). I went for the one, that uses the Solas model. And behold, the love scenes with Cassandra became less comical and more romantic....

Thanks to all the modders who's creations make replaying games such as DAI so much more enjoyable.

I would disagree, I use a programmable keyboard and mouse and have a dandy time of it.

This is so cool, I am using the buff one on my FemQunari, finally that character can look like I image it. Also does anyone know if there is a mod for swamping animations? Female to male or other walking animations?

Unfortunately, there are not animations mods for DAI at the moment.

 

The mod does make male Elves look better in armor. It does not change them in cutscenes though, because that's an entirely different issue.
