Not to tread on toes, but if bridges have not been burned, and it is viable to do so, pls consider rehiring past Bioware employees to fill any needed positions. Be it QA, Programmers, Designers, Community Mgt, or other areas that may have openings, pls reach out to them if possible.

Thanks!

Wont happen. Bioware wants cheap labour.

Yes; have seen some mention on Gamasutra. However, as one that has followed Bioware for nearly two decades, there have been some names that have moved along for whatever reason, and an invitation would seem to be a decent idea, if possible.

If someone moved on because he couldn't get the opportunities he wanted at Bio, what's the chance that the situation's improved?

Developers move on for many different reasons. Some start their own studios. Some leave the industry for other pursuits. Some do not work well in a corporate structure. Some do not work well with others.

If Bioware is advertising for help those developers can apply if they wish.  I seriously doubt EA/Bioware is going to begging anyone to come back especially if they come with old baggage or grudges.

Reason I started with the notion that bridges and opportunity are still intact. I lost track of some of the Devs met from NWN1, and recall those days fondly. And I have no notion if they are working elsewhere now or not; some were taking breaks from writing and development; others were moving elsewhere.

In any event, it would be a shame if either party were oblivious as to the opportunities, and wished to mention this in the suggestion area in case.

While I don't mind if they rehire past devs..especially those who made Banner Saga, I do want to know the premise of this topic, genuinely asking.

Simply musing over some of the past names that used to (or may still) work with Bioware; Rob Bartel, Dan Whiteside, Stan Woo, Chris Priestly, Steve ? (sorry Steve) that bantered with us in Off Topic, etc. And recently when Chris announced his time at CDPR was complete, it made me a tad nostalgic for older times. All had skills and talent, and seemed to make my time here pleasant.

Well, if Mike moved on, I would not extend that invitation, after the crapola KB_M controls he gave me. "PC game for PC gamers by PC gamers" my butt.

Those that left soon after DA:O was launched was because EA was pushing the franchise in another direction.  I doubt they want to come back.

Frankly, I'm sort of surprised that you don't regard everything as it is currently as completely hunky dory.

If I recall correctly, different leadership in EA now. This might alter any such choices, if they were extant at all.

That may be true but EA leadership answers to their investors and not the gaming community. As long as EA makes money and grows, investors are happy.  And how does EA grow and make money, you astutely ask? Answer = by continually doing what works, which is not necessarily congruent with fanbase wishes. And EA put out a new wrinkle in the Playbook FY 2016 by listing the top games with playtime in minutes!!! not hours but minutes!!!.

Did you know EA was the reigning champion as Worst Company for year '12, '13 with two Golden Poos but lost to Time Warner Cable in '14. I believe they lost because TWC wanted the Golden Poo more badly than EA and not because EA gave up on the award.

I am "served" by TWC. If they won it in 2014, then I can truthfully attest that they earned that bastard. Brought their A game.

Sartoz why do you think Mike Ladilaw is the one who had anything to do with the controls? That's not his job. Maybe Mark Darrah or Cameron Lee is who you should complain to.

Second worst by popular vote is not impressive. And Ea is still terrible, look at the microtransactions and the fact they release paid content that's broken and don't even bother to fix it in a timely manner. Spoils of the qunari are just meshes, and they can't make them work this long after release?

Terrible company.

One thing I wish that would reappear are the Bioware BBQ's; always sounded delicious, friendly, and encouraging. Miss those kind of gatherings myself....

Terrible company yes, but not so different from the many big companies in the media industry. The point with this worst company award is just stupid anyway. There are actual companies out there that are making money on the misfortune of others. Taking lives, destroying the rainforest, denying people water, using children for cheap labor and somehow this is ok? But hey a company enforces some microtransactions on our entertainment you better believe they are the worst thing that ever happened to this world! We are spoiled and we should know better.
