So I come here to check for news today, and this was my reaction:
I'll be the first to say I could be wrong about a lot of that, and I really hope that I am. I usually get all DLC as soon as I can, but I want to see what people say this time. And I also don't. I don't know. Hopefully since dwarves are involved, I can at least (finally) get a cool set of armour! Maybe!
Anyway, ignore my pessimism (sprinkled with optimism) if you wish. I'm just venting, not trying to set the place on fire or anything. I'll probably feel a bit better after I watch the trailer ![]()
Oh, and I'm glad they finally decided to use a female Inquisitor for more than a companion teaser trailer, so yay? ![]()

And what it changed? I will never undestand the need of some people to see X gender in a trailler.

This really isn't the place to have a full discussion about it, so we should probably not start one and derail the thread.

VEry well then, it seems a touchy subject for you.
It was not my intention to start any kind of discussion, I was just intrigued about what changed the trailer having a male or female PC, but lets forget about it and move on.

Never understood it myself. I was much more intrigued by our two dwarven companions: Ser Beards-Dwarf and Maybe-Dagna.

Now that has me highly interested. Jaws was nice, but this seems Legacy-like, and I loved that DLC.

Just wondering - How? I got really bored of it. I played on PC, have a VR14 DK and a lot of gold.
Someone gave me a PSN card and I got the game for free for that reason. Hanging out with my guildmates on the micro chat and exchanging stuff while questing. Zenimax has been adding a bunch of tweaks since the first time it was released and it's slowly getting better with each new patch builds. Can't say it's the best game ever, but it's surely entertaining enough for me to come back and exchange with other players, making deals, etc.

What people see on PS has changed A LOT since Early Access on PC
Spent untold hours in it - now I'm waiting for something new to do (if you thought waiting for DA SP DLC was hard...)

Your Inquisitor and Hawke are twins.
Anyway, you just voiced my fears for this DLC. Just from this trailer, I can already guess how it's gonna go down:
- Very light in storyline, with an couple of discoveries that are ultimately not very relevant (if at all).
- Little content with companions with them mostly talking about the location and how much they hate it there.
- Unimportant side characters that will be tossed aside once the storyline is completed as if they never existed.
- Dungeon crawl, dungeon crawl, dungeon crawl, dungeon crawl *ugghhhh* This isn't why I play Dragon age.

This is a single player DLC? It almost looks like an expansion for an MMO or something. The trailer is very combat/dungeon focused with very little about a story or characters. Do the companions even have any new dialogue or interactions?

Yes it is and how we can know if there is any new dialogue or interactions? If you have doubts about the DLC, you can wait the reviews and see if it for your taste.

The Ogre knockdown them both and they will suffer heavy dmg.

Generally a trailer tries to highlight the strengths of the content and with this trailer it was combat and environments for the most part. It looks like a multiplayer or MMO add-on rather than a (story driven) single player DLC but maybe it won't actually feel like one, who knows? I definitely plan to wait for a let's play. When it comes to DA:I reviews are too divided for me to get a clear picture. That's what I did with JoH (which made me not buy it).

BioWare doesn't have a great track record doing trailers (imho) so it could come to that.

Ha, you noticed!
Yeah, I have problems making Hawkes because of lack of hair, so I thought I'd do something funny this playthrough.
Anyway, on-topic: I'm really hoping that list won't be what happens, but I don't have much confidence. Plus, I might be able to be pleasantly surprised. It reminds me of ME3: Omega. Little storyline that didn't make a difference to the overall story, no companion content (at least we'll get some here), and a new character who was irrelevant after the DLC; not even mentioned again. That's a problem with DLCs like this, and I guess that's why a lot of people are disappointed it's not post-end only - it can't make as many meaningful changes/additions. So yeah, I'm also worried that whatever we discover has to be small enough that it can get away without a mention later, and the new characters are pre-destined either to die or never appear again.

Can't I have one of those cheeky unrealistic answers that funny and maybe unappropriated?

I got the exactly opposite vibe. Like, this will be another Legacy.
And Legacy was by far the best DLC they released for Dragon Age franchise. That DLC alone had more lore and story than entire base DA2.
So I'm definitely hoping for something like that with "The Descent".
Of course I may very well be wrong.

Too much adds spoilers. So they can only show so much.

True. It would be nice if I end up being wrong and it's not just a dungeon crawl or another fetchy zone but if even Mike Laidlaw is saying it isn't "story heavy" before it comes out then I doubt it will be something I like. I want it to be good because no games I want come out until October (TW3 expansion, SWtOR expansion, then FO4 the next month) and I'm bored but I'm not really invested either way.

I'm not disagreeing with you per se, but I've seen trailers that packed every action shot a movie had into them while the actual film had less action and was more plot-filled than the trailer implied. Here's hoping the same applies here.

I actually think Bioware does awesome trailers. They send shivers down my spine! Especially the ME3 MP trailers, like Earth and Retaliation!
That's just me though.

Look at Swtor. But that's a story based mmo anyway.
