Yeah, doesn't mean it is good thing. Do we really need to fight against don't know how many Corypheus' clones? It would be better if they all have different abilities. It was never established that he only had that ability, since it makes sense for all the Magisters to have it similar to the Archdemon

Haven't we played Origins, Awakening and Legacy already? That's just another dungeon crawl.
If there were any interesting story elements(Architect, Fade survivor, anything) - they'd have mentioned it in the trailer, the way it was shown in KOTFE trailer. They didn't. So, it's a long and boring journey through Deep Roads, only with better graphics - and no dialogue.
And no sight of Solas. Again.
You are not obligated to buy it. Don't want it, don't buy it, simple. A heap of DAI owners don't even have the choice unless they buy the game all over again.

Can someone explain all the Architect hype to me? I just killed and completely forgot about him.
Is it because he might be a magister like Corypheus? I honestly thought he's just dead and gone

He is one magister like Corypheus, he was the priest of Urthermiel
Ah, so he could still be alive then? Interesting, haven't really thought about that

Kinda sorta meh. I'll wait for reviews but I reeeeaaaallllyyyy wanted something story/character based and meaty. It looks better than Hakkon, we'll see I guess.

Apparently this whole DLC is a seamless experience? Isn't that like basically no loading between parts?!

Do you know what's actually going on? Have you actually seen there was no dialogue? Or are you just bitter for some inexplicable reason?

This is the BioWare forum.
- Release DLC pls
- Where is the DLC?
- Waiting too long for DLC!
- Stop teasing, give us the DLC!!
[BioWare announces DLC]
- This DLC sucks
- This isn't worth the money
- We want different [other type of] DLC
etc.
I'm looking forward to enjoying the DLC next week, whatever grumbling may be happening on BSN.

Maybe we wouldn't be saying that if they actually bothered to make an story heavy DLC rather then an obvious half-hearted dungeon crawl.

Ah, you've played the DLC in beta then?
Are you able to comment on how story content compares to JoH or are you covered by NDA hmmm? ![]()

Isn't it a bit too early to call it "obvious half-hearted dungeon crawl" when nobody's yet played it?
So much unnecessary negativity.

Well, if you were clever you would catch what this DLC is all about just with the trailer, nothing but combat sequences, scenery shots and only a couple of dialogue. And oh, lookie here, trailer comes out a week before release. There is a lot of build here! Surely, a lot of effort went on this.

I’ll admit I have my reservations about this DLC, from the trailer it does look like a combat focused DLC but I had similar reservations about JOH and I ended up loving all the little tidbits of lore we got and liking that DLC overall so I’m willing to give The Descent a chance.

ok, well I may be too stupid then to comprehend it, but that is quite a cynical and dismissive reading of the trailer.
A 1m 52s second trailer does not give me deep insight into the several hours content of this DLC so I think I'll wait to actually play it, thanks.

If you were *really* clever, you'd take into account that a trailer wouldn't show story spoilers, and would focus on the most flashy and visually impressive parts of the DLC. Which isn't dialogue, as a rule.Well, if you were clever you would catch what this DLC is all about just with the trailer, nothing but combat sequences, scenery shots and only a couple of dialogue.
I'm not saying it might not turn out to be a glorified dungeon crawl and nothing more, and I'd like that just as little as you, but it's impossible to tell from the trailer. Also, the DA team hasn't made a SP DLC or expansion with no story so far, and I don't expect them to change that now, given that people don't buy their games, as a rule, because they find the combat so impressive.
So, for now, I'm looking forward to Descent. There's time enough to complain after I know whether there's a reason for it.

Why stop at the Descent dlc? Why not break some really interesting new whining ground and jump to DA4 straight away.

Should BW just show characters talking for two minutes? Why would dialogue be in the trailer? Of course they'll show off the graphics and focus on combat

....Yes, because they weren't building up the reveal of Deep Roads/Darskpawn-related DLC through WEEKS of shameless teasing.
And the trailer being released a few days before DLC release is part of their marketing strategy in fact. Mike Laidlaw even said so on his twitter yesterday: https://twitter.com/...995602051764224

Indeed, dialogue doesn't make for great action snippets, which is usually what you're looking for to make a trailer.
And they tend to be spoilery.
