That they coordinated with BioWare doesn't change who made it.
It means it was made by both Bioware studios
What's the supposed issue with Bioware Austin again? I don't play Mass Effect or SWtOR, so I have no clue what people's beef may be.

I think they did ME3 Omega which had lots of bugs
But I honestly don't see the problem because outside of the bugs Omega was a decent DLC
They are a different studio under the BioWare moniker, yes. They ARE Bioware.
That was Montreal.I think they did ME3 Omega which had lots of bugs

I believe it was Bioware Montreal which made Omega.
Bioware Austin makes SWTOR and I believe was working on Shadow Realms before it was canceled
Well, they said the same thing about Colonial Marines.
I'll just wait my time. There is no point in bickering about it anyway.
Indeed.
(and Colonial Marines did suck in spades...)

I'd be really-really surprised not to see DS as a new MP enemy, along with a new map and (may be) a new MP GW character. Rather sooner than later.
I am so excited for this DLC, mainly because I didn't feel like I got to see much of the darkspawn or the Deep Roads in DA:I (and the new engine). So I'm looking forward to that. Hopefully the story is good as well; I'm not expecting something like Awakening, obviously, but it'd be nice if it wasn't just a pure dungeon crawl. That said, the idea of an actual dungeon excites me because we haven't actually seen them in a long time. They're so iconic and we haven't had a nice, meaty one since (to my knowledge) Legacy.
I'm actually also incredibly curious about that seemingly new ability in the trailer because DAI's mage abilities left me less than satisfied...so I'd be super overjoyed to have more added.
About the predictions and stuff...obviously it's possible this DLC might suck, but I personally tend to be more positive because I find it more pleasant. All y'all who are negative have every right to feel the way you do, it's just rather draining when you're one of the happy people. But in the end, none of us will really know how we feel about Descent until we've actually played it, or at least have more news. So maybe we should temper our negativity and positivity.

would be interesting as long as it isn't a second Val Royeaux. I'd love to visit a large city with people who actually talk and give you side quests.
Sooner.
May be so, but DS as an extra enemy had always been too obvious not to happen.
Now they have all the in-game assets, and nothing stops them.

WHELP! Looks like I have a new MP character now. I love Luka and Korbin. Hopefully this new one is a two-handed warrior, so I can just go dwarf for everything except ranged and mage.
You know what would of been awesome if we get the dwarfs or atleast the legionaire from the multiplayer as temps companions for this dlc
I think those who have been disappointed by BioWare's more recent games are the ones who are nervous about this DLC and the ones who have not been disappointed are the ones who are excited. It makes sense, nothing has changed so the people who liked the game will likely like the DLC and the people who didn't like the game will most likely not like the DLC or will be disappointed if they get their hopes up that it will be an improvement on the base game like Legacy was for DA2.
The problem with it is that unfortunately, you work yourselves up so much that you won't actually let yourself be surprised by it. You work it up in your head that it's gonna suck so bad that you'll have a hard time working yourself out of the negativity. It could be a really good DLC, but you have to let it.
Do you do that? Because I never have. If my misgivings end up being unfounded and whichever thing I was negative about ends up being great to me then I'm the first one to say I was wrong and sing its' praises from the rooftops as well as recommending it to others who got the same bad impression that I did.
Uh, yeah. The fact is, this is a dungeon crawl in the most boring part of Thedas with absolutely no information given whatsoever on what's actually happening isn't praiseworthy at all, but you wouldn't be able to tell from this thread. Saw the same thing with JoC. where the Hinterlands 2.0 happened. I don't expect much better from this one. You can dress is it up with charged things like, "Moar dwarfs," and you can say, "Another dragon," but those 30 second cutscenes won't make up for hours on hours on days of grinding through legions of boring combat because we are in combat more than anything else, and like I said, it's the weakest part of DA:I by far. This could very well be the dlc to make me want to actually play DA:I again, but I highly doubt it from what's been seen so far, more darkspawn grinding and Blight hand-waving. Scrutiny is fine, within reason. Nothing unreasonable here.
You know, I always think combat matters to me very little since I've always muscled my way through crappy combat/combat that I don't like if the story and characters are good (ME1, DA:O and 2, etc...) but combat and gameplay mechanics are more important to me than I realized. I think about how much I love Skyrim and it's not because it has a good story (though the faction storylines are good) the main plot is very weak. However I played that game for over 1,000 hours just because I loved the combat, crafting, stealth and other thief skills, the variety of ways to make your character, the non-combat potions and spells, etc...it all made the game interesting and fun for me and made me look forward to exploration. If this exact trailer had been for Skyrim I would have been excited and bought it sight unseen but I absolutely HATE the combat, crafting, armor, etc...of DA:I so if that's all there is to the DLC then it's an automatic no for me. A great story/character interaction would change my answer and make me muscle through but the trailer is not promising in that regard. It would be cool if that's not the case but we'll see.

I don't do that, no. But I rarely judge a book by it's cover and I try to stay at least open-minded even about things I'm not excited for.
The problem I think people have though, is what you said to begin with. If you've never been reasonably disappointed by Bioware or their game offerings you'll likely enjoy the DLC they release. If you have had issues with Bioware in the past and dislike the games they make, you likely won't enjoy the game. But then I wonder if people have been burned enough that they can't find anything positive to say about anything, why do they continue to a) buy Bioware product and
come to their forums?
If Bioware hasn't made a game you like since 2009, it's probably time for you to move on and leave the rest of us to have fun in peace. Bioware doesn't read these forums (much) anyway, so the only thing they are doing is making the rest of us miserable right along with them.
i'm too lazy to check all 16 pages so no idea if it was answered here but, anyone knows the name of the music played in the background?
Pretty much the same, I don't see how anyone can be anything but optimistic at this point? We wanted DLC and we got it. If it sucks, so be it, but until then I assume it'll be awesome.
Plus the fact we know there is more DLC to come was icing on the cake for me.
You don't? The main thing I was hoping DLC would add to seems completely absent from this DLC, just like JoH:
Character content. That includes the Inquisitor and the inner circle, which includes advisors. Obviously, Bioware can make DLCs with lots of character content, as they made Citadel, which to me seems like their most popular DLC, probably for that reason. It's also the main thing I've seen people ask for since launch.
It's very possible this DLC will be awesome when looked at in a vacuum, and I hope it is, but that doesn't change that for a lot of people it simply isn't what they wanted, just like JoH. And that's my reason for being sad. It's not actually because of what's in this DLC, it's what isn't. And it matters, because in all likelihood there will only be one more DLC, and that either means we'll only get one character-driven DLC or none.
For me, this looks just like JoH. I enjoyed it, but it wasn't what I wanted them to make.
I doubt that, considering JoH had a number of situational banters.
Commenting on the area and occasionally the story isn't banter. They don't talk to you or each other. I enjoyed those comments a lot, don't get me wrong, but saying it's banter is a bit of an overstatement.

Actually that is banter, it just isn't party banter which I agree we could use more of in the DLCs

Really? *sigh* But I love the banter! She'll have none, naturally ![]()
