I must also add, that so long as 'text speak' is avoided, we are constantly writing, which subsequently improves literacy skills.

Yes, but it's not fun to post on the BSN if you can't text speak on Bunz threads or reply to Leo8Skylar with 'bruhs' and 'fams.'

Isn't it obvious? It's an infographic of two Greek warriors about to post their pre-battle selfies on Instagram before battling the Trojans. #aristeia #trojanwar #homerhasinstagram #dontfuckwithmycenea

BAHAHAHAAH getting kids outside. Watch as all the kids are outside keep looking at their phones while the wonders of nature raise their hands in frustration and give up. You'd think the kid from Jurassic World is a satiric caricature. No, it's accurately true to life.

There is no going away from the internet, we carry it with us.

Imho the solution is to encourage kids to post pictures of the fun things they do so others will see they have a life / are cool. All the kids love to be constantly checking all the social networks and judging one another's lives, but this also compels them to show others they're not constantly checking because they're out having a life.

It's sometimes amazing to see how some adults have an incredibly difficult time adapting new technology and comprehending complex interfaces on digital screens. Among other positive effects from growing up with tech, I think it's pretty cool that kids growing up will never struggle with this learning curve. They're not intimidated by new gadgets and will be quick and eager to understand how to optimally use it. They may also appreciate computer science and coding more, and in itself has a lot of encouraging possibilities.

She better love Avatar or else you'll have to disown her.

It's only moral that you do so.

But yeah, joking aside... great story telling, I think, is a great way to stimulate any young mind into maturing/developing values etc etc...

So please

For the sake of her being.

Keep her away from Naruto.

You could have her watch A:tla and Korra a good 5-6 times in the time it would take you to get all the way through Naruto. Best avoid that scenario.

It's funny how it's taking the p*ss.

"94% of teachers say their students equate research with google and other search engines."

Like it was a bad thing.

Then right below it links to all the internet pages it used as its sources.

Pls

The thing is, that picture doesn't just seem to take issue with google, the idea seems to be that technology = bad.

Google's led me to more than a few interesting research papers, in lieu of access to databases.

So more trash wasting space on the inernet? Just great...

Screw that, send them to Chinese internet rehab.

Does this give me an excuse to rage about how awful kids today are?

Not that I needed one...

Right?

Sorry, I wanted to see it better.

I'm glad my attention span is going down. I don't have to read all the bullshit I see on the Internet. I didn't even read one-fourth of that infographic.

I don't know.

How you can.

Make fun

of "text speak"

and "bruhs" and "fams".

When most of your posts.

Look like a chain of text messages.

Bruh.

the-internet-is-making-our-children-stup

I'd rebut this, but I'm bored now.

Teacher Unions are the devil and THE bane of our public education system. There are so many scrub teachers, I'd say nearly half of them are BAD. I've never had respect for public teachers, nope. I had terrible teachers in high-school and it impacted my ability in math, fortunately I have a high IQ and love to read, so I excelled in College. But I directly correlated my ineptitude in mathematics to my scrub teachers I had. Furthermore, I grew up in a rather affluent area, so I can't imagine how awful teachers are in poorer demographics and places.

Our public schools and teachers have FAILED our children. They get the F.

How do we get better at math and science again?

Easy.

Fire the millions and millions of derptard teachers that are protected by the Unions.

Kids and technology aren't to blame. I tutored elementary kids in an after school program for nearly 3 years. I was always astonished and surprised at their willingness to learn. Ipod, Ipad, Iderp or not. The kids just wanted to be TAUGHT and have someone TRY.

We have so many lazy teachers, just lazy.
