Took me 4hrs to complete the main story as I've said elsewhere. Graphics are awesome, characters intriguing, combat hardest yet in my opinion and the lore in spades. Left me with a lot of questions. I definitely enjoyed it, but I do think it was a bit short and linear. It's not going to have the replayability of, say, Legacy for me.

Thank you, I guess I wait discount. I don't have problem with linear actually opposite i hated open world in DA:I. But 4 h content for 15 euros half game price is just to much .

Does it have some DLC specific companion content or race?

To be clear, by 'disappointing', I hoped for some more unique combat challenges than just one large boss like that. A 'real' dungeon delve (IMO).

Spoiler

I don't dislike the other things I hear about the DLC. It just doesn't specifically entice me to spend $15 on it right away.

The game portrayed it as being the whole southern Wardens, so Ferelden and Orlais. The Wardens who are wholly unaffected would be those falling closer to Weisthaupt, so Nevarran or from the Anders. And these Wardens seem to have issues of their own. Apart from that it doesn't seem like there's a time the Inquisition wouldn't be involved.

We've dealt with darkspawn before in e.g. the Storm Coast. Beyond that, it's not clear what the hook for Descent will be story wise. It may be "help our dwarven allies with [X] but watch out for darkspawn", not " end a darkspawn invasion ". But even if it were the latter, the Inquisition has done that before.

Oh? I assumed the Ferelden wardens were separate since we never saw or heard about any of the Awakening wardens. It would suck if they all randomly died off-screen (maybe used as sacrifices or something). :(

Nope, haven't seen the DLC in the playstation store yet (I'm US, central time)

I'm hoping it shows up before I go to work so it can download while I'm gone

Anyone else got the super long loading times in the DLC? Also random CTD?

Actually, we do hear about the Fereldan Wardens, right after we get back from the Val Royeaux the first time. When Leliana tasks us with finding Blackwall in the Hinterlands, she mentions that they are missing.

In the end, it didn't matter, since Thedas is bigger than people like to think.

Thedas is bigger than Ferelden, but that doesn't mean that the Ferelden Wardens don't matter.

Nor does it excuse not addressing their fate. At best, it's lazy writing and planning. At worst, it's a potential plot hole that could get worst.

Nice cherry pick there mate. How about we address the whole post, instead of ignoring the answer to this post in the post you decided to snip? The Wardens were addressed, by Leliana, in the Chantry in Haven. It's particularly hilarious to me, since the part of the post you decided to address was unrelated to the Wardens at all, but to the DLC. Since darkspawn were only a fraction of what it was about. There's really no plot hole, it was pretty well laid out. Unless you can tell the difference between an Orlesian and a Fereldan Warden by looking at them while fighting at Adamant?

For all the ones here that have completed the DLC, should I play it after or before the main game?

If they were at Adamant, it would have been mentioned. Aside from that mentioning in Haven, the Ferelden wardens have apparently vanished. The Wardens at Adamant were specifically noted to be the Orlesian Wardens.

Citation needed. I just played Adamant, and no where did they say "Hey, have you heard what happened to our Fereldan brothers and sisters, because we're all from Orlais".

It's funny how so many of those Orlesian Wardens speak with Fereldan accents.

And considering it's been ten years since the Blight and the fact their Warden Commander went missing, it makes sense the Ferelden wardens would take cues from the Orlesian Commander.

Also, how the Hell did Corypheus and company even sneak into the Temple. A seven or eight foot ancient darkspawn and bunch of mages in Grey Warden regalia get past security?

Possible, but I'd call it speculation at best without some official in-game proof.

The accents could be an indication though not a guarantee considering grey areas of how someone even gets an accent.

For the person who asked if they should play the DLC during the main campaign or after ...

You can start it any time after you get to Skyhold and from what I hear the enemies level up with you. But I've also heard you will get to certain portions in the DLC where it might be too difficult to carry on, the game's hint that you should leave for a bit and come back a couple of levels later.

There's no benefit to completing it before or after the main campaign. I played it with a character that has already completed the main game and maybe got one story related battle cry dialog in reference to that fact. Something along the lines of "I did not defeat Corypheus just to fight these guys in the end."

The first half of the DLC felt a lot easier to me than the second half. There are two enemy factions you will face and the faction in the second half are far more difficult because of their sniping abilities. Similar to the archers in Jaws of Hakkon.

Hope that helps. :)

ETA: There's a vendor you get pretty much right at the beginning of the DLC that buys back all of your gear at outrageously outlandish prices. I probably only had about 20,000 gold going into the DLC and walked out with 400,000+. So starting the DLC as soon as you get to Skyhold could be beneficial just for that fact, as it will make it a lot easier to buy higher leveled gear early on in the game.

There's no reason not to, considering any Ferelden warden there was mook # 173 +. The ones that matteted weren't and since Nate's the only one of the Awakening companions, outside of Anders of course, who has tiles in the Keep in both DAA and DA 2, I'm thinking he's still running errands for the First Warden, and he's caught up in whatever is happening at Weisshaupt.
