Calling it now, we're going to learn about the Titans (and the ending figure in the trailer might possibly be a Titan).

"Oh no, Blackwall, one of our party members got infected by the darkspawn taint! I heard becoming a Grey Warden can save them. How do you perform the Joining?"

"LOL I dunno"

They're not genlocks, DA2 style genlocks are visible in the trailer, these have a totally different body shape.

Who says that they can't both appear? Perhaps the DA2 variety are just severe mutations of normal genlocks and the appearance of these ones will clear up the discrepancy between the two game's differing models.

Also that ogre looks more skeletal/deformed than the ogres we've seen before so maybe it too is a mutant?

Considering JoH actually brought in more lore and hints to where the series could be going, it only added to the immense possibilities that DA:I already hinted.  It's like people aren't paying attention to some of the things and discussions that happen in the games at all.

I am paying attention -- that is actually a big part of my disappointment and irritation with Inquisition. "Hints of more" would be fine if they remained hints, little background details. But in a game that already feels like 90+% combat, fetch quests and other pointless filler content, what little time for plot and character development it has is further diluted by throwing more random crap at it instead of giving any of its premises and arcs more than a rushed hot-potato treatment. Sometimes it feels like they were never actually interested in telling the story that the game tries to set up in the beginning, nor the story implied by the awesome confrontation with Corypheus during IYHSB. The protagonist? Barely a character. The antagonist? Not a character at all. I want them to remedy that, not make an already bloated, shallow, disjointed mess even moreso.

I like the game. I love some of its characters. But at every turn, I grind my teeth in frustration at how much of its potential utterly goes to waste, how much depth and nuance and personal stakes it could have had if they had focused on storytelling and "properly" explored and finished the story I thought I was paying for before moving on to other things that I may not even care about.

Not really interested in this DLC if it doesn't tie into existing unresolved storylines.  I wanted more explanation/closure on the current unresolved plotpoints (Dreadwolf, Wardens disappearing, etc.).  So unless this is about the Wardens disappearing, I'm not sure I'll get it.

I'm betting this will be about storylines which sometime in the future will tie into or neatly explain the currently unresolved storylines or at least parts of them.

I mean it's effin Darkspawn / Old Gods / Kal Sharok dwarves. It's a no brainer. People who loved DAO should get this for the lore. People who loved DAI should get it for the gameplay. People who loved DA2....well considering their standards they should have no reason to not get this (joking....not really....but no offence).

Here's the Kal Sharok entry from DAI codex. Just reading about it sends shivers of anticipation through me.

My approach was carefully observed. This was not a thaig unused to watching its boundaries. I got the impression that if I'd been one of his Orzammar cousins, our meeting would've been swift and bloody. That is, if I'd been allowed to find the passage at all. As it was, he was polite and efficient, and he knew well the current market for everything he offered. Clearly their isolation is not because of fear, and certainly not disinterest. Among his wares, I saw the latest fabrics of Val Royeaux and volumes by a Free Marcher poet three centuries dead. This only added to my doubt of the official year of Kal-Sharok's "rediscovery" as declared by the Assembly of Orzammar. I didn't mention this to my host. As curious as I was, there was an undercurrent I found unsettling. I must stress that he and his helpers were professional and honest throughout. But there was something I can't describe. While he remained hooded the entire time, he looked me square in the eye when our deal was struck, unashamed.

I lived through a time of Blights. I've felt the gaze of a Grey Warden and seen the corruption of his prey. Why I remembered both in that moment, I still can't explain.

The DLC looks interesting, but I'm just hoping the Derpspawn aren't too derpy in it. Because nothing ruins portions of the game more than me laughing hysterically during encounters because of the enemy design.

This would be great.

Inquisitor: We going into deep roads Blackwall get ready, this will be easy with you.

Blackwall: Ah I feel really sick.

To be fair, actual Wardens couldn't sense darkspawn in Origins, either (another red herring/oversight). So fake-Blackwall is no more a liability or a suspicious oddity in that regard than the vaunted Hero of Ferelden was. :P

I recently just finished another playthrough of DA:O and I'm pretty sure it was said twice in the beginning(once by alistar and once by morrigan) that a newly joined warden won't be able to sense them right away, If wardens couldn't sense the darkspawn then the wardens wouldn't hear the calling or hear the archdemon during a blight. The taint connects them that's why the darkspawn can sense the wardens as well.

Has the world really gone mad though? It seemed more to me like Bioware just made the wardens conveniently incompetent to make it "a job for the inquisition", and unless this DLC is really smart I'm expecting more of that kind of stupidity.

By the end game there are either no more wardens in Orlais or they are under your direct command.  Either way, if its in Orlais the Inquisition has a responsibility to intervene.

Any dlc centred on him is bound to be the final one for DAI. I imagine they're building up to it.

Alistair specifically goes with you into the Kocari Wilds because he can sense darkspawn and bring you near some that aren't the ENTIRE HORDE. Darkspawn also show up on the minimap quicker than other creatures do.

I for one consider Save-scumming and reloading every time Darkspawn ambushed the party the manifestation of this "gift" in term of gameplay :P

So if this quest ends with saving Orlais from earthquakes, and this quest can happen before Wicked Eyes, Wicked Hearts; can't this event be used to win popularity and standing in the court?

If not, the only explanation is that no one hears about it. In which case, how does this discovery shake the world? And will this end with ultimately unimportant realizations that never get mentioned again?

I know that a lot of people are wanting to see the Architect in The Descent DLC, and I will admit that it would be cool to run into him again, but I really hope that the Awakened are in this and that they play a big role in the story.

As much as I hate to sound like a broken record, I would really like to see, and interact with something that is alien in nature like the Awaken were presented. I didn't particularly care for all the humanizing treatment that Thedas received in DA:I and the Awakened would provide the perfect faction/species that actually thinks and acts differently from everyone else.

That and I really would like to see the Messenger again. He had a very interesting dichotomy about him, with his nature as a Darkspawn and his desire to help the other races; I just hope that he doesn't devolve into a trite Pinocchio troupe if and when we do get to see him again.

I liked Messenger I think he lived if I remember correctly I promised not to kill him and i keep my word but I told him something like get lost and don't let help me. But epilogue say he die maybe it was bug. Does this keep have this choice?

If you do spare him the DA:A epilogue slide makes mention of a masked figure defending travelers on a road from bandits, but that several villages surrounding the area reported Taint-based sickness.

I believe it does. Its been a while since I fired the Keep up, but I could swear that one of the options available was whether the Warden Commander let the Messenger live.
