It was the pirate game that I always wanted. My copy bugged out, and I never saw the ending, sadly.

It was basically Sid Meier's Pirates! but with a Third person exploration mode that was a huge game changer. I would explode with ecstasy if they remade this, or made a spiritual successor, or even just made Pirates! with a full 3D third person modern engine with customizable MC and wrahgrlgrgrlg...

Oh, sorry, got a little excited.

Anyway, not much to discuss, since nothing like this is on the horizon (that I'm aware of) just the random orgasmic wishes of a gamer.

Oh, and I've played Black Flag. It was good, but not really the same kind of thing as Pirates! by Sid Meier.

That was sort of an INB4, I guess...

I started playing Black Flag, and I really enjoyed the prologue, but life just took a turn for the uber busy and Arkham Knight comes first, so moving further into that story is going to have to wait.

I remember playing the At World's End tie-in game on PS2. It was more fun than the PS3 version.

The game isn't actually based on the movie. It's based on Sid Meier's Pirates!, a game from the nineties. The only movie tie-in was the Black Pearl, itself, but you never even really interact with it. It's an original story, but apparently it was very buggy, and wasn't received very well.

I seem to recall there was some pirate game that was supposed to come out a few years back, did it get cancelled?

The naval battles were awesome (for its time).

The best was that Disney Pirates of the Carribbean MMO. I mean the game itself was mostly crap but the ship battles were amazing at the time.

There's this game/mod called Caribbean! that is made with the Mount & Blade: Warband engine. Don't know if the general opinion about it is good or not.

Haven't tried it myself.

Pirates of Caribbean was actually called 'Sea Dogs II' I think. Or was supposed to be.

Basically a sandbox pirate RPG in the style of Morrowind. And yes, it was developed by Bethesda.

Then along came the movie licence, :( before the game was finished.

The pieces were quickly adapted to the formula, and PoC was what was left of it. A pity.

I'm still butthurt that PotC: Armada of the Damned got cancelled. It was an Openworld/seas Rpg for Xbox 360 and PS3, it was was shown at one E3 and never seen again. https://en.wikipedia...a_of_the_Damned
