well after see the tráiler of the new dlc my hippie is low...really i hate this way of bioware franchises now DA series take a bad way with contradictions...first i remember the Words of David Gaider and he respond in my old post Darkspawn is a job of Gray wardens....and this is the excuse of him for not include the more better epic and giant legend HoF/warden orlesian in inquisition scenes....

well what is the new excuse now for change the role of the inquisitor in a deep roads....this not is a job for inquisitor...this is a job for hero of ferelden..

what is the .... problem with the HoF?really why  they decide delete the existence of this hero?why?

the cause is the hero of ferelden not is a carácter of EA?really i not understood this politics...much people sense this..

hawke is a charácter of EA and appear in DAI...

inquisitor is a carácter of EA and probably appear in DA4...

well i sense this and now i have a surprise...inquisitor steal the job of the HoF....

after play the franchise witcher i think in quit my  favourite DA Franchise...really i hope a honest explain of Gaider or laidlaw...

why Hof/warden orlesian not have a chance?much people wait this much people die for this and much people quit the franchise for they ignore this characters.

sorry for my english i talk spanish

Dude take a chill pill. This is a dlc for DA:I of course the Inquisitor is going to deal with it, that's the character we are playing in this game. The only reason we would need a Grey Warden is if there is a Arch Demon involved.

Mike has said many times that he will not bring the Hof back because he/she was not voiced in DA:O so it would mess with an awful lot of people's head cannon if they now introduced a voiced HoF.  I seriously don't expect us to see the HoF again in this franchise.

I am really looking forward to taking my Inquisitor down into the deep roads to deal with this Darkspawn Infestation.

Not to mention even a fully voiced Hawke still managed to mess with a lot of people's head canon.

Your obsession with killing off the Hero of Ferelden is getting pretty weird.

Their HoF mighty have been named Kenny.

I think the biggest issue with doing this was that most players could not make Hawke look like their Hawke, and that there was no control over Hawke at any time. People have a hard time letting go of everything, HoF, Hawke, and I'll venture an educated guess that in DA4, people will be complaining that the Inquisitor didn't come back.

As far as the subject in the OP, 2 things...

  • Anyone can kill darkspawn
  • Wardens are only required to kill an Archdemon

Well, there was also the Anti-Blood Magic issue, that kinda threw people for a loop if they played a blood mage hawke.

Hawke's hate of blood magic also caused issues with blood mage Hawke players and Merrill romancers.

Wow, it just like Hawk did not have to fight a horde of blood mages and horrible flesh golem made via blood magic that could destroy a city or something...

Oh, look. He's back.

...and people are humoring him for some reason.

You'd think OP would've taken the hint by now.

You know, I think if I ever brought the Hero back, I'd add a scar across their throat to the character pic and have them talk through an interpreter.

If Darkspawn are the job of Grey Wardens then what the frak are the Legion of the Dead doing battling them in the Deep Roads?

Also, not everyone is obsessed with their Warden

I like to think that the Inquisitor ignored all this until an earthquake messed up their perfectly arranged furniture in Skyhold and displaced their throne. They subsequently declared war on anyone and anything who would ever dare causes such a catastrophe.

More seriously, it's not like the Warden didn't start doing non Warden-y jobs whenever they wanted to. Given that they cleansed a tower of demons and abominations, one could say they were doing the Inquisitor's job before the Inquisition was born. We're just returning the favor now.

lady0635 whatt they include more content of hawke in future dlc and not of warden?

really?if this happen i quit seriously the franchise.

Then quit, Inquisition sold more copies than Origin so I doubt Bioware would care if you did.

They could still be a blood mage themselves and support Merrill's blood magic.

It worked out perfectly for me, I rivalmanced Merrill, but it was still jarringly inconsistent for those that took the opposite stance.

It's definitely an issue, though I suppose you could say that Hawke's reaction was because of the human sacrifice involved in the blood magic, and that they view their and/or Merrill's usage of blood magic as being on a different level.

My blood mage Hawke ended up hilariously in character. She was a complete hypocrite who sided with the Templars and became Viscount, and was always shaking her fist and saying 'curse those blood mages!' then walking around the corner to slit her wrists and make out with Merrill.

Or it might imply simply imply that Hawke has a massive blindspot when it comes to him/herself and their associates.

user sunnie well i remember see a message of Gaider in the fórum and they think in include the HoF in the ending scene but they decide delete the content....really this is a bad decisión....they decide include the carácter hawke but decide cute the content and the cameo scene of the more better carácter of DA series..the hero of ferelden...and replace with stroud.... probably hero of ferelden work more better in the story of inquisition...

they need solve the situation of a better carácter with a scene in a game not only with a off screen message.....really i hope a response for a chance of this...or i think in quit this franchise...much plot holes...

now the inquisitor steal the job of the warden....

Adding the Hero of Ferelden in this segment would have added more plot holes than the already problematic HoF on a personal quest elsewhere trick they used to keep the character offscreen.

Clarel takes over the Wardens so easily because she outranks everyone else among Southern Thedas' Wardens. To work with the involvement of the HoF (or the Orlesian Commander for that matter), Here Lies the Abyss would have needed to be largely retooled as the tale of an internecine struggle within the Grey Wardens Order, with many more Wardens siding against Clarel and the Inquisition playing a supporting role instead of being a main belligerent.

Now I do think they should bring the Warden back (in order to drop an anvil on him/her of course) but Inquisition's main story was not the time to do it.

Yeah, frankly the Hawke cameo didn't work, at least not for me. For all that Hawke supposedly has a more set personality they still have the ability to state a variety of different views and feelings on different issues. I have one Hawke that the 'npc hawke' dialogue worked for, all the others are ooc at one point or another.

The HoF would be even worse as there is a far greater variety in who they could be.

I don't want to see ANY player character come back unless I can control their dialogue, bioware can never come up with an npc version/versions that work for everyone, letting us select what they say is the only way. They can always provide a default option for people who haven't played the relevant game or just don't care.

Even then you'll get people claiming that the available choices don't fit their character's personality.

Personally I don't mind Playable Characters turning into NPCs and behaving differently from the time I was the one in control, provided the time-skip between the moment they ceased being controlled by me and the moment they make their comeback. That's why I didn't mind my Hawke getting so hostile toward Blood Magic despite hooking up with Merrill and helping her fix her Illuvian or getting into an argument with Stroud in the Fade: there's something like five years between the battle against Meredith and the siege of Adamant: time enough for him to change from the character he was at the end of DA2.

Killing Darkspawn is not just handled by Wardens. We don't have the numbers for every nation but going by what we know of Ferelden pre-Blight and post Blight, I would guess they are not enough to handle it alone?

Also, in TME, Gaspard moans that he was sent to go kill darkspawns instead of Dalish. So the regular cleaning is canonically not just handled by Wardens when there is no Blight.

Not to mention the Dwarves constantly fight them. Wardens are mostly used to keep watch of what goes on down there and of course contribute to the killing.

I don't know what would stop people to go explore the DR if they want it and find an entrance (see Varric expedition).

So no going to the DR and killing darkspawn is not solely a Warden's job.

Now I´m quite happy my Hero of Ferelden died.

He would have been annoyed by all this nonsense.

Saving the world once should be enough.
