The Reaper on Rannoch used to really bother me until one play-through when I found out that, if you time it just right and punch it right as the last shot gets fired, you can definitely punch the Reaper right in its red glowy eye-thing.

I have only successfully pulled this off once, but just thinking about it makes me happy.

Most annoying sequences are definitely fighting anyone who is wearing Plot Armor (Kai Leng, I am looking at you. I would kill you in like 30 seconds if you didn't have ~cutscenes~ protecting you.)

I just encountered an annoying gameplay sequence today. First time I'd tried Citadel DLC with an Infiltrator. I was fine until after the restaurant scene and I had to take out the mercs with one health segment and a pistol.

That sequence seems to want you to use stealth to take out mercenaries without them raising the alarm but I've never been able to do that in any runthrough. I was, however, hoping to be able to do it with my Infiltrator as they're great at stealth right?

Nope, the mercenaries seem to be even better than Shepard at spotting cloaked characters. I might as well not have been cloaked at all!

Aggro mechanics in Mass Effect 3.

Complete stealth on that mission is possible until you open the door, at which point they spot you no matter what. Here is someone doing it with a Vanguard of all classes.

Rannoch Reaper was easy if you stood still between laser beams and aimed right in the centre. Honestly most of ME3 was dead easy even on Insanity if you had OP weapons as an Infiltrator like the Black Widow - even the London banshees.

I would say the Feros boss battle. As a long range Infiltrator you constantly get rekt by the zombies and the Asari clones.

Everything involving the Mako

I just really can't handle that thing, think I did the mission with the Geth ship like 20 times because I kept firing at everything but the ship and the Geth shooting at me.

I also had huge problems with the Maw Hammers the first couple of times I played that mission because I didn't realize that you can just run around all the brutes and hit them.

Wow, respect!

I wish I could aim like that.

Nobody mentioned the maw hammers on Tuchanka until now?

Due to the smoke / dust fx, it's more luck than skill.

Not difficult, just disappointing.

Why do you think it is luck? I've got three playthroughs up on youtube on insanity where I kill all the Brutes and don't die once. I actually enjoy fighting all of the Brutes. I never run straight for the hammers anymore.

Because the dust / smoke fx make it difficult-to-impossible to see much.

I generally don't fight the brutes, but try to avoid them. Even so, I sometimes run into them or get stomped by a reaper claw that I didn't see in time to avoid.

I haaaaaaaate the Brutes. I usually find myself in situations where I'm pressing F like a madwoman because I let them get too close and I have to beat them to death, mostly because I suck at combat. But surprisingly, they die awfully fast when I'm beating them to death.

The most tricky bit I find on Tuchanka is not getting killed by the reaper beam on the initial approach. I know it says stay in cover but you have to break cover at some point to get to the next bit of cover, whereupon I die instantly!

It usually takes several attempts.

The brutes I can generally avoid or kill without too much trouble. On this last runthrough I had an infiltrator which makes the hammer run ridiculously easy :D

The trick to that is to keep moving - do not camp - as soon as you arrive at a cover node, start sprinting to the next one.

I did that once, too - just stealthed my way around them.

Otherwise, I'm about 50/50 - sometimes I complete it the first time, sometimes it takes 2-3 tries to get to both hammers.

You do not need to take cover from the Reaper. You can just walk out in the open the entire time.

I've killed all the brutes a couple of times.

Activating the hammers isn't too bad.

I had the same problem previously. Then at some point I watched cap and gown's video and was surprised you just have to keep walking :)

Last time I managed to not get stomped by the Reaper and just ran for the hammers. But I think next time I'll take the brutes on again. The Reaper stomp is also not that hard to avoid I've noticed. You just need to know where it comes down, and from what I've seen now these places seem to be the same, always right before the hammers and in the middle of the area (I could be wrong though, but that was my impression from the last time I played). You can also see the shadow indicating it's gonna hit this spot.

I didn't know you could get stomped by the Reaper, so watch it happen on this playthrough. I do love everything about the Tuchanka mission though. It's a fantastic action sequence that never feels boring. (I'm looking at you, Thannix Missile Battery.) Plus a very emotional ending no matter what you decide to do.

First time through Mass Effect, I did not know about the Anti-Thorian Gas grenades until I had punched every single colonist of Zhu's Hope in the face AND killed every single Thorian Creeper with ridiculous amounts of gunfire. They just take way too much damage, and during the "boss fight" with the Thorian, there are just so damn many of them!

I hate the fact you can't save during any Hammerhead sequence in Overlord. Combined with the fact Hammerhead's armor is weaker than wet tissue paper, finding yourself at the very beginning of the whole sequence again after dying gets annoying fast.

That is only an issue on Ovelord DLC if you choose to actually fight anything in it. The only things you absolutely need to shoot with the Hammerhead in the Overlord DLC is the Geth Cannon and shield pylons outside of Prometheus Station (Geth ship). Everything else is completely optional as you can speed right by it or ignore going near it entirely.

But not being able to save in the Firewalker: Artifact Collection mission is the most painful of them all if you screw up.

I guess the completionist in me always wants to kill every possible thing (and scan every one of those circle things on the ground), even if it puts my flimsy vehicles at risk. But you're right, the fights are completely avoidable. I'm not sure what happens if you accidentally fall in the lava though.

I've never died on the Firewalker missions (though I was very close to on the Artifact mission!) so I wasn't sure if not being able to save was an issue there as well, but I can definately see how having to restart that whole mission gets annoying and tedious.

Technically you don't even have to shoot the geth cannon's shield pylons. I always find it easier to just sit in front of them and wait for the geth cannon to target me. Then I make a run for it and let the cannon shoot it's own shield down. :)

I find that fights with the hammerhead are really easy though. You'd think it's about maneuverability and evasion but it really isn't at all, it's about finding a good position where you can sit and shoot around corners but the enemy can't hit you. There is such a position for every single enemy encounter with the hammerhead.

I have some experience with that :D Starting all over it is...

I suck very much at using the Hammerhead. Also whenever I tried to speed by something, I got shot down way too quick. Maybe one day... ahaha.

The magic Avenger rifle that pops out of nowhere in cutscenes. All the 3D animation has been done on all weapons. Why are team members equipped with it? Occurs in all 3 ME games.

The banshee and brute waves at the missile battery in London can be nervewracking but not annoying.  I find the adjuctant fight in afterlife to be aggravating at times.
