Elemental Mines explode instantly?

So I've been working on the alchemist's 250 games, and I've noticed that at times, the mines, when thrown out just instantly explode. There are no enemies in range to trigger em, and at first I thought it was due to maybe too many mines around, and yet there are times where I fire flask and the first few sets explode with the enemies far away and nearly no mines out. Am I just being unobservant or is there something else going on?

(Was thinking maybe something about the terrain it's thrown on?)

It's some weird collision thing where if they happen to bounce a certain way they'll self detonate. We're planning on refactoring how the mines come out in the future some time but for now it'll just be an unfortunate bug :(

This is a private message I had from Luke regarding the issue.

It happens when they get tossed against a wall. I've also noticed that they'll explode instantly when used on steps.

I throw them at walls all the time whilst luring and they only explode sometimes, but that's due to the above quote from Luke. I'll confirm that they won't drop on stairs though, that's annoying as hell. I'm thinking because they get pushed off of stairs that it makes them fall and land in the same manner which causes this bug.

What annoys me is them not exploding under a dragon or giant most of the time.

Hopefully they do work out a fix for this. It can happen anywhere. On the plus side, at least you can hurt dragons when it does happen. Anti-gravity mines are my favourite, though, just flying away in a line; like a frog from a windshield.

Quick question since I rarely use Ele mins, but can't they also be manually detonated?  (assuming that if there is such a feature it actually works properly)

They cannot be manually detonated.

Can I also have quick question, since we are talking about elemental mines?

Does Knife in the Shadows works with mines? If I throw them from Stealth, will they automatically crit?

Yes, there's a bug with knife in the shadows which will allow you to crit every attack you do regardless of whether you're in stealth or not, I tested it with mines and every single one crit, it's stupid.
